Kommisrud has run numerous R&D projects including amongst others the projects which are the basis for the SpermVital technology.

Fride Berg

Job Titles:
  • R & D Coordinator
Fride Berg Standerholen has a Ph.D in Reproductive Biology and an M.Sc in Applied and Commercial Biotechnology from Hedmark University College, with specialization in experimental biotechnology and a bachelor degree in Biotechnology from the University of Life Sciences at ÅS. The main goal of the PhD thesis was to gain more knowledge of flow cytometric assessment of semen and procedures for sperm quality assessment. Sperm functionality was assessed in relation to bull semen preservation methods and fertility. One of the main findings was that there were differences in selected sperm function parameters between standard Biladyl (B) and immobilized SpermVital (SV) processed semen. Semen quality parameters, such as plasma membrane- and acrosome integrity, considered important for the actual fertilization, were not correlated with fertility data that showed similar fertility levels between B and SV semen.
