The mission of SRDA is to provide programs and projects that enhance the quality of life for the senior community of Pueblo and increase opportunities for independent living... Today, SRDA continues to be challenged by the high proportion of older residents living in Pueblo County and the number of elderly at or below the poverty threshold. It is estimated that approximately 25,554 or 19% of the county's population is 60 years of age or older, compared to 13% in the state as a whole... SRDA has long been recognized as a model program which allows seniors the choice and opportunity to stay in the comfort of their own homes, but allows them to do so at a fraction of the cost of an institutional care facility. SRDA provides services to all of Pueblo County and contracts with other organizations, including the City and County of Pueblo, to offer the best comprehensive quality of care and meet the needs of our senior population.
