Darrell L. Hirt

Dr. Darrell Hirt brings over 26 years of experience to the practice. He joined Tarrant Nephrology Associates in 1991. A Texas native, Dr. Hirt is fascinated by the constant changes and new challenges of the medical field. He also enjoys helping to guide patients in their health decisions. In his leisure time, he reads novels, travels and spends time with his wife and 3 children. He can also check climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro off of his bucket list.

Dr. Bala Sankar

Dr. Bala Sankar joined Tarrant Nephrology Associates in 2009. Dr. Sankar chose to follow his father's footsteps and enter the medical field. He enjoys the challenges of the field of medicine and developing long-term relationships with his patients. Outside of work, Dr. Sankar enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and painting. A Fort Worth native, he also has a strong interest in music and cars.

Dr. Lee Edward Anderson joined Tarrant Nephrology Associates in 1984. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the practice. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dr. Anderson pursued his specialty because of his passion for kidney physiology and improving patients' quality of life. Outside of his work, he enjoys traveling, sports, listening to jazz music and spending time with his wife and 3 children.

Dr. Neena Bhagat

Dr. Neena Bhagat brings 6 years of experience to the practice and has been with Tarrant Nephrology Associates since 2010. Originally from India, Dr. Bhagat enjoys the frequent changes of the medical field and helping patients. Outside of her career, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Dr. Sathish Karmegam

Dr. Karmegam did his medicine from Stanley Medical College, Chennai, India. He worked in the UK (Trafford General Hospital, Manchester) and Australia (Royal Perth Hospital, Perth) as Senior House Officer before coming to the US. Then, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas NV. He did his healthcare MBA at the Marshall Business School, University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He worked as Assistant Prof of Clinical Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Tucson AZ. He did his Nephrology fellowship at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, Dallas TX. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hospital Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Nephrology.

Laura Jones

Laura is passionate about the quality of life for each of her patients. Her background consists of working as a dialysis technician before becoming a Physician Assistant. She believes in working wholeheartedly to provide the best care to her patients. Laura grew up in Littleton, Colorado. She moved to Mobile, Alabama to complete her Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of South Alabama. She moved to Texas to pursue her interest in Nephrology and to be closer to family. Laura enjoys being outdoors, walking her dogs, and spending time with friends and family.

Marc Wilson

Marc Wilson completed his Master of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas Medical Branch in 2019 and is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. He received in Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2014 as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2006. Marc worked as a critical care nurse in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care unit for 10 years where he cared for patients with multiple complex health issues including renal transplants and kidney disease. Marc is a native Texan who loves all things Texas even though his wife is from Oklahoma. In his free time, he cherishes time with his wife and son. He enjoys fly fishing, hunting, playing hockey, and the great outdoors.

Peter Van Nguyen

Dr. Peter Nguyen joined Tarrant Nephrology Associates (TNA) in Fort Worth, TX, in 2006. He obtained his M.D. at the University of Texas in Houston, TX, in 1999. He did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and went on to complete a fellowship in Nephrology at Baylor. He is Board Certified by the Texas Medical Board in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. In addition, he trained in interventional nephrology under the guidance of Dr. John Ross in South Carolina. He provides dialysis access care for patients receiving hemodialysis and is certified by the American Society of Interventional and Diagnostic Nephrology. He primarily practices in Fort Worth at the clinic, dialysis unit, Vascular Access Center, and Texas Health Resources Harris Methodist Hospital. His nephrology special interest is ICU nephrology and water and electrolytes balance. He enjoys fishing and outdoor activities.

He is passionate about helping his patients in their treatment decisions. Dr. Allam's articles are published in various prestigious medical journals including American Journal of Transplantation, Kidney International, The Journal of Clinical Hypertension, Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, PLos ONE etc. The American Society of Nephrology honored Dr. Allam with the designation "Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology" (FASN) for his outstanding credentials, high professional achievement, commitment to the field and demonstrated scholarship. He was chosen by his peers and recognized by Fort Worth, Texas Magazine as a 2014 Top Doc in Nephrology. Family Nurse Practitioner Trey is a 5th generation Fort Worth, Texan and a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. While living in New York City, he realized his calling to the nursing field, earned his Associates of Nursing in 2009 and started his career in the emergency department at Jersey City Medical Center. In 2012, Trey and his family moved back home to Texas where he continued nursing in the emergency department at THR Harris Hospital, while earning his BSN from Excelsior College and starting his MSN at The University of Texas at Arlington in 2016. In 2020, Trey joined Baylor Scott and White All Saints Hospital where he served on a Med/Tele floor as a Charge Nurse and front-line nurse, caring for inpatient Covid positive patients. He graduated from UTA with his MSN-FNP in 2020. Over the years, Trey has developed a passion for healthy living, patient education and patient-centered care. His hope is that his compassion and love of medicine and people is evident in the care he provides his patients. Trey loves spending time with his amazing wife of 13 years and their two boys. He loves being outdoors, exercise and physical fitness, new restaurants, music and singing, and is an active member of his church choir
