Adam Wiseberg, the owner and founder of Wiseberglaw, is an experienced lawyer who has been a trusted advisor to multinational corporations, banks, financial institutions, small businesses and individuals. With years of experience gained domestically and in international markets, and with a network consisting of lawyers, accountants, financial planners, insurance agents, real estate agents, mortgage brokers and other professionals, Adam provides comprehensive and trustworthy solutions to all of your business and real estate needs.
Based on years of experience servicing clients ranging from multinational corporations to individuals, Adam understands the need to be practical, proactive and results-oriented, to communicate with the client at every step of the file and to provide each client with friendly, cost-effective and sound legal advice.
Having begun his career overseas practicing "big firm" corporate/commercial and finance law for close to a decade, often in a cross-border context, Adam has the skill set and expertise to assist you in a variety of matters, including traditional business law services (i.e. incorporations, partnership agreements, shareholder agreements, corporate restructuring and contract reviews), real estate, wills & estates and litigation.
Adam earned his law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1996, graduating cum laude, and a Masters in International Economic Law from the University of Warwick in 1999, graduating with distinction.
From 2000-2008, Adam worked in Tokyo, Japan for some of the largest law firms in the country as a business and finance lawyer, gaining significant deal exposure to, amongst other things, cross-border securitizations, debt-refinancings, aircraft leasing and mergers and acquisitions. In this capacity, Adam provided transactional leadership to multinational corporations and financial institutions and understands the factors that result in successful and expedient deal closings.
While in Tokyo, Adam was an instructor at the Law Extension Program at Temple University, and co-published (with Kei Ito) an article entitled Japan's Securities Regulations: Following in US Footsteps? in The IFLR Guide to Japan 2007 63 (2007). Adam also co-published (with Kenneth K. Mwenda) an article entitled Corporate Law Safeguards Against Oppression of Minority Shareholders in 11 SA Mercantile Law Journal 28 (1999).
In 2008, Adam returned to Canada, ultimately settling in Ottawa, Ontario in 2010, where he currently lives with his lovely wife and daughter.
