Michael A. Olivio, Esq. is the founding member of the Olivio Law Firm, PLLC, in Charleston, West Virginia. Michael was born in Wheeling, WV and grew up in the Clarksburg area. Michael served five years in the United States Army prior to attending college at Fairmont State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in 1994. After working with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Michael attended the West Virginia University College of Law, receiving his J.D. degree in 1998. While at the WVU College of Law, Michael was named to the Order of the Barristers along with winning the 1998 Lugar Cup Trial Competition. Michael also served an additional six year commitment with the West Virginia Army National Guard where he served as an instructor at the State Military Academy, located at Camp Dawson. Additionally, Michael served as an instructor at the Western Army Aviation Training Site located in Marana, Arizona. Mr. Olivio's practice areas include civil litigation, personal injury claims, workplace injury claims, employment claims, sexual harassment claims, as well as insurance dispute claims. After a decade working with insurance companies as a civil defense attorney, Michael now uses that experience to help individuals pursue their personal injury, insurance and workplace injury claims. Michael's experience working for corporations and their insurance companies greatly assists his current clients by knowing the tactics they will face. Michael regularly represents individuals and small businesses before West Virginia's Circuit Courts, the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the Southern Districts of West Virginia. Michael is a member of the West Virginia State Bar, the Kanawha County Bar Association, the Board of Governors for the West Virginia Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice and is a former member of the Defense Research Institute. Michael also maintains a professional licensure with the Federal Aviation Administration. In his time away from the office, Michael enjoys West Virginia's scenic outdoor opportunities. He can be found trout fishing, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and canoeing on our many rivers.
