Established in 1969 as a sheltered housing complex we are situated in the heart of the Lake District in beautiful Windermere, only a stroll from the lake... We can be flexible, so don't hesitate to give us a call if you don't quite see what you want. Although we do encourage 6 month tenancies, we can offer shorter stays too... The Nine Oaks Housing Charitable Trust was formed in 2008 (although our roots run back to 1969 when we were part of Abbeyfield) to offer support to those who weren't quite able to live on their own and needed some support. We presently have 3 volunteer Trustees who are responsible to the residents and their families for running the two houses, Nine Oaks and Thornton House, together with a manager, Lynn, and other fantastic staff. We always welcome volunteers and help, so please let us know if you have a few hours spare per month!
