In June 1978, Gary Redekas, the managing partner of American Excellence, L.L.C., Garage Doors & Awnings of Tariffville, CT, quit his job at a local lumber yard to start his own business as a remodeling contractor. In the years that passed, he gained knowledge and experience in all phases of home remodeling. Over the years he was drawn into specializing his business in one aspect of the construction industry.
