Dr. Alice Kuo is Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and of Health Policy and Management in the Fielding UCLA School of Public Health; Chief of Medicine-Pediatrics at UCLA. Her research interests include access to and delivery of developmental services, cognitive and language development in young minority children, and services for children and adults with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Dr. Alice Kuo is the Principal Investigator of the AIR-P (www.airpnetwork.ucla.edu) and a professor, practicing pediatrician, and researcher at UCLA. Since 2014, she has been the Director of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB)-funded Health Care Transitions Research Network (HCT-RN) for Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition to her research, Dr. Kuo has been involved in educational programs at several levels, from undergraduate students to post-graduate fellows. Since 2006, she has been the Director of the MCHB-funded Pathways for Students into Health Professions for disadvantaged undergraduate students interested in public health and health professional careers. In 2016, she became the Director of the MCHB-funded University of California Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (UC-LEND) program (www.uc-lend.med.ucla.edu); and in 2020, became the Director of the MCHB-funded MCH Center of Excellence at UCLA, also known as the UCLA Maternal and Child Health Training program (www.mch.ucla.edu). At the post-graduate level, Dr. Kuo is the Director of the UCLA Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Program, which she founded in 2003. At the national level, she has been the chair of the Health Care Transition Committee for the Medicine-Pediatrics Program Directors Association since 2012.
Clinically, Dr. Kuo sees primary care patients at the Medicine-Pediatrics Comprehensive Care Center in Santa Monica, the first ambulatory practice at UCLA with extended hours in the evenings and on weekends and holidays. She also precepts residents and students at the Simms-Mann Health Center in Santa Monica. She also directs the School Function Program at the Venice Family Clinic, a primary care-based model for addressing learning issues and mental health problems in children.
Dr. Kuo received a B.A. in biology from Harvard University, her M.D. from UCLA, and her Ph.D. in educational psychology with a focus on early childhood and special education from the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA.
Dr. Kuo received a BA in Biology from Harvard University, her MD from UCLA, her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a focus on Early Childhood and Special Education from the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA, and her MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management.

Dr. Allison Guimera is the lead physician at the UCLA Porter Ranch Pediatrics office. She received her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine. She completed her training in pediatrics at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA. Prior to opening the Pediatric office in Porter Ranch, she was a Pediatric Hospitalist for three years at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center.
Dr. Guimera is a board certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been involved in teaching nurses, medical students, and residents and she has served as a mentor for medical students at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Guimera is a skilled, caring pediatrician who seeks to provide the highest quality primary care to children in her local community of Porter Ranch. She provides preventative well care and sick care to her patients from birth through adolescence using the most up-to-date evidence based medicine. As a pediatrician and mother herself, she understands the challenges of being a parent and raising healthy and happy children. Her interests outside of medicine include traveling, pilates, reading, watching Formula 1 racing and spending time with her husband, children and extended family.

Dr. Andrew Day is an endocrinologist who practices at UCLA Health's Santa Clarita clinic.
Dr. Day received his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He moved to the University of California, Los Angeles to complete a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, where he graduated with honors.
Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Day participated in research that studied the associations between sleep and metabolic health. Dr. Day has an interest in medical education and is involved with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Day was born and raised in Wisconsin. Outside of medicine, his interests include travel, reading, baseball, camping, hiking, kayaking, and enjoying the arts.

Ami Thakor Philipp graduated Phi Beta Kappa from University of California San Diego and then went to University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford for medical school and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She then completed residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA. She completed Allergy/Immunology fellowship at the West Los Angeles VA which included pediatric training at CHLA. Ami's love of Allergy/Immunology developed in medical school when she worked with high risk teens with asthma. Ami enjoys seeing all ages and have a special interest in managing food and drug allergy as well as allergic rhinitis and asthma.

Dr. John C. Mazziotta has been Vice Chancellor of UCLA Health Sciences and CEO of UCLA Health since 2015. A member of the David Geffen School of Medicine faculty since 1983, Dr. Mazziotta also has served as Dean of the medical school, Associate Vice Chancellor of UCLA Health Sciences and Executive Vice Dean. In addition, he was chair of the Department of Neurology and founding director of the Ahmanson-Lovelace Brain Mapping Center.
Dr. Mazziotta earned his MD and PhD in neuroanatomy and computer science from Georgetown University. Following an internship at Georgetown, he completed neurology and nuclear medicine training at UCLA.
Dr. Mazziotta has published more than 260 research papers and eight texts. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Oldendorf Award from the American Society of Neuroimaging, the S. Weir Mitchell Award and the Wartenberg Prize of the American Academy of Neurology, and the Von Hevesy Prize from the International Society of Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Mazziotta has been elected to the National Academy of Medicine and the Royal College of Physicians.
