Alex Wright

Upon graduating college from Southern Oregon University and obtaining the Certificate of Advanced Accounting Proficiency at Santa Clara University, I began my career in public accounting at Deloitte. I served companies ranging from venture capital-backed growth enterprises to global public companies, primarily in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications industry. I provided expertise to my audit clients in complex accounting matters (e.g. revenue recognition, stock-based compensation expense, business combinations, etc.) and have assisted on offerings of securities in private and public markets and other SEC filings. I then transitioned to the industry side of business at a start-up in the Silicon Valley where I am currently a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting and Reporting. After multiple years of living in San Jose, my wife, daughter, and two dogs recently relocated back to Santa Cruz where I grew up. Eager to participate in my community, I joined Bay Federal Credit Union as an Associate Supervisory Committee Member. Since opening my account with the Credit Union shortly after I graduated college, I have received excellent service and wish to give back some of that excellence to our membership and our community.

Alicia Flores - VP

Alicia Flores is the Vice President, Member Services. Alicia began her career as a part-time teller at Bay Federal in 1981, and has over 30 years of service in the financial services industry. She oversees the Credit Union's seven branch locations and team of branch managers. Alicia is responsible for all aspects of branch operations, member experience, production initiatives for achieving sales and business development efforts, and the organization's high member service standards. Alicia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, and presently serves on the Board of Directors for the Hospice of Santa Cruz County.

Allyson Stengl

Allyson Stengl is the Vice President of Consumer and Business Lending. Allyson joined the organization in 2011 as a loan underwriter and has served as a team lead, Consumer Lending Manager, and most recently, AVP of Consumer Lending. In her role as VP of Consumer and Business Lending, she oversees all of the credit union's consumer lending functions and business lending initiatives. Allyson has a bachelor's degree in Business Management and Small Business Entrepreneurship from Sonoma State University. She is also a graduate of Leadership Santa Cruz County and the inaugural class of BayFed University, the Credit Union's management training program. She is a resident of Aptos, where she lives with her husband and two children.

Amy Ivey - CMO

Amy Ivey is the Vice President, Marketing and Development. Amy joined the organization in 2005, and has over 25 years of experience in marketing financial services and medical industry. Amy's areas of responsibility are marketing, public relations, corporate communications, events, employee education and development, financial education, and community development. Amy is a Certified Strategic Marketing Executive and a 2014 graduate of Western CUNA Management School. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Marketing from California Southern University and is pursuing her Masters in Business Administration. She is an Emeritus Trustee of Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County, serves on the Board of Directors for the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County, Monarch Services, volunteers for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Silicon Valley & Monterey Bay Area Chapter, and is a Committee Member for CalCPA Attorneys, Bankers and CPAs Santa Cruz. She is a past member of the Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Barbara Callahan

In 1986, I moved from New York City to this small coastal village that I now call home. Since 2001, I've worked in management for Threshold Enterprises, a successful and growing local company that manufactures and distributes natural supplements. I have a BS in Finance and Marketing and a lifetime of work experience in banking, transportation, logistics, and finance. I am OSHA certified and over the years have taken classes at Cabrillo College and San Jose State University to further my education and personal knowledge. In my professional life, I have managed and mentored with the understanding that we are all one part of the whole picture and need to work together. I love finance, numbers, and knowing what is happening to my money. Serving as a member of the Supervisory Committee is a privilege and a new adventure. I have over 20 years of experience serving on homeowners associations (HOAs). I am currently a Board Member of my HOA and I am active in residential-owned mobile home park associations. I also enjoyed a long career as a sports official for the American Softball Association. I enjoy gardening and daily walks with my dog Hazel.

Bob Bugalski

I have been a member of Bay Federal Credit Union since 1957, and have served on the Board of Directors since 1986. From 1991 to 1995, I was privileged to serve as Chairman of the Board, and also spent several years as Board liaison to the Supervisory Committee. My professional background includes 42 years of teaching, 32 of which were as an instructor and athletic coach at Cabrillo College. My wife and I reside in Aptos. I am motivated to continue to do this volunteer work in order to provide this area with exceptional and ethical financial services. I am an advocate for responsible fiscal management, high quality service, excellent security, sound administration, and the training and development of financial careers in our local community. Brett Karleen

I have been a member of Bay Federal Credit Union for a very long time - it was my first banking experience! I spent many "grown-up" moments at their branches, learning how to write deposit and withdrawal slips, speak to a teller, or apply for a credit card. As simple as it sounds, Bay Federal played a very important part in my commerce education. I would even get my daily news headline from the television screen that sits above the teller line! A resident of Scotts Valley, my background is in business management. I received my B.A. degree in Communication Studies and managed a well-known restaurant in Santa Cruz, Café Cruz, before moving to Los Angeles where I continued in restaurant management and dabbled in the movie/television industry. I now work in the professional sports industry where I oversee soccer operations for the San Jose Earthquakes. I'm excited to serve as an Associate Director to give back to an organization that is important to me and has served me very well over the years.

Brooke Morley - SVP

Brooke Morley is the Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer. Brooke previously worked for Bay Federal from 2008 until 2014, when she served as the Assistant Vice President of Lending. She moved to Southern California with her family where she led lending teams with various credit unions. In early 2021, she rejoined the Credit Union as the Vice President of Asset Management. As the Chief Product Officer, she oversees all of the credit union's product management and servicing, including deposit products, loan products, and card products. She also works closely with the consumer and mortgage lending teams to support the Credit Union's lending programs and provides guidance and strategy for our automation and efficiency objectives. Brooke received two bachelor's degrees from Santa Clara University, one in Economics and one in Finance. She also is a graduate of Leadership Santa Cruz County.

Cameron Haste - COO, EVP

Cameron is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of Bay Federal Credit Union. As a member of the Executive Team, Cameron partners closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer, and the credit union's all volunteer Board of Directors to ensure an alignment of strategy, objectives, and priorities. He is responsible for the business performance and leadership of member-facing channels, from the credit union's branch locations, to digital banking experiences, and the development of all products and services offered to members. Cameron fosters a creative and collaborative work environment in order to achieve results and deliver excellent service to members. Cameron is active in the community and supports a number of causes important to him, focusing on youth engagement, education, social services, and diversity and inclusion. He is an active member of the San Lorenzo Valley Rotary Club, and has held many distinguished positions with non-profits throughout the region. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Business from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Cameron is a graduate of the Credit Union Executives Society CEO Institute and holds the designation of Certified Credit Union Executive. He enjoys adventure travel experiences and spending time with his partner and two adult children.

Carrie L. Birkhofer - CEO, President

Carrie joined Bay Federal Credit Union in 1989 as the CFO and has held the title of President and CEO since 1995. Carrie's passion is to create a more vibrant, stable community and expand economic opportunity by providing access to locally owned financial products and services. Under Carrie's leadership, the Credit Union has grown from $70 million to over $1.5 billion in assets. She partners with the Senior Leadership Team and the Volunteer Board of Directors to set and drive the vision and mission for the Credit Union, to ensure the strategic vision is upheld, and the member and employee experience is forefront in the Credit Union's actions. Since 2015, Bay Federal's award-winning culture and service has consistently been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work and the Best Places to Bank. Carrie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Carrie is a key member of our community. She was recognized as Woman of the Year in 2018 by the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce. Carrie is Secretary for Monterey Bay Economic Partnership, past President of Scotts Valley Rotary Club, past President of Cabrillo College Foundation, Chair of the Cabrillo Advancement Program (CAP), and Secretary of the Fiserv/Open Solutions Client Association. She also serves on the Legislative Advocacy Committee for the California Credit Union League. She lives in Santa Cruz where she raised her three young adult children. She loves to walk on West Cliff, take pictures, read novels, and travel.

David Torres

David Torres was born and raised in Santa Cruz, and joined Bay Federal Credit Union as a Home Loan Consultant in August, 2014. Prior to joining the Credit Union, David had served as a mortgage banker at Chase Bank and Stonegate Mortgage. "My goal is to provide a great home loan experience for our members," he says. David holds a B.A. in Economics from San Jose State University and lives in Santa Cruz with his wife and children.

Dennis Osmer

I first volunteered to serve on the Supervisory Committee in 1998 and joined the Board of Directors in 2006. I have had the privilege of serving as Board Chairperson among other officer roles. It is gratifying to work so closely with an organization of people that have a strong record of accomplishment serving members as well as the communities of the area. I am committed to maintaining strong community ties in the Credit Union's charter areas to ensure the institution remains responsive to the needs of members. I work as Executive Director of Central Coast Energy Services, Inc., a nonprofit that helps low-income people with their energy bills in Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz and Marin counties and in the City and County of San Francisco. I have served as the Mayor of the City of Watsonville and Fourth District Commissioner on the Santa Cruz County Planning Commission. I serve on Central Coast Community Energy's Community Advisory Council. My wife Laurie and I live in Watsonville. We are the proud parents of two adult children and are welcoming the next generation with the addition of grandchildren.

George enjoys collaborating with borrowers, processors, and real estate agents to create a seamless loan coordination process. "I am excited about helping members achieve their dreams of home ownership," George says about coming to work each day.

Guillermo Cervantes

I am a business owner, entrepreneur, and investor. I started my first company almost 20 years ago, which is now well known among the Bay Area's leading construction professionals as a trusted place for specialty construction materials. I'm proud of having been involved in helping supply some of the biggest construction projects in the Bay Area over the past two decades. In 2013, I started an investment company that allows me to explore a variety of different business opportunities including e-commerce and real estate. I have a passion for learning as well as sharing what I've learned with others. I have been a proud member of Bay Federal Credit Union for over 20 years now and I admire the commitment they have made to the community they serve Joining the Supervisory Committee is a great honor and an exciting in-depth look into how a successful credit union operates. My professional career in Santa Cruz includes serving as City Administrator for Scotts Valley, Executive Director of the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), and Senior Engineer for Ifland Engineers in Santa Cruz. I was appointed to the Bay Federal Supervisory Committee in 1992; then joined the Board of Directors in 1996. I retired from the Board and was appointed as Director Emeritus in 2014. Bay Federal and its members continue to be essential parts of my life. I am passionate about supporting its goals and leadership. I am excited to join BayFederal and continue "making a real difference" in our community. I grew up in Watsonville and the broader Monterey Bay area. My professional work experience has focused in the nonprofit sector where I have contributed to local efforts in environmental conservation, education, and economic justice. I hold a BA in Communication Studies from University of California, Santa Barbara. I attended graduate school at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and have dual degrees, an MA in International Environmental Policy and an MBA in International Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Sustainable Development. Outside of work, I enjoy relaxing with family and friends, reading, and spending time in nature.

Jessica Dixon - Treasurer

I was born and raised in Santa Cruz and graduated from Harbor High School. I earned my B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Jose State University and am a licensed CPA. I've been the Decision Support Manager at Dominican Hospital since 2015 and have worked there for 20+ years in a variety of finance/accounting related positions. For a brief time, I worked for the County of Santa Cruz in the Human Services Department and the Auditor Controller's Office. I live in Corralitos with my husband, four spoiled house bunnies, three cats, and my dog. My favorite pastimes include hiking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Having lived most of my life in Santa Cruz, I am called to work and volunteer my time and energy with institutions who are committed to improving people's health and wellbeing. Bay Federal Credit Union is one such institution that is dedicated to improving the financial health of those in our communities.

Jim Phillips

I have worked in higher education for over twenty years and currently serve as Director of Campus Engagement in the User Experience group in Information Technology Services at UC Santa Cruz. I received a Ph.D. from Duke University in Romance Studies (1997), a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from Kent State University (2001), a Masters and a B.A. in French, as well as a B.S. in Business from San Diego State University. In addition to technology, my interests also include real estate and financial investing. Working with my three brothers, I help oversee a family property management business in San Diego. My family and I joined Bay Federal as soon as we moved to the area because of our longstanding ties with credit unions. Bay Federal's values and community involvement make it a good place to be on all fronts.

Jordan Ciliberto

I am an attorney in Santa Cruz practicing in estate planning, real property, and fine art. I was born and raised in Santa Cruz County and attended Cabrillo College, UC San Diego, and Santa Clara University School of Law, where I was an Emery Merit Scholar and served as a Policy Fellow with the Panetta Institute for Public Policy in Monterey, California. My law practice is driven by a passion for helping clients navigate complex legal issues and taking a pragmatic and results-driven approach to legal practice. I have been a member of Bay Federal since the late 1980s, when my parents opened a small savings account to help teach me about financial management. I come to the Board inspired by Bay Federal's focus on serving and investing in our local community, and I look forward to continuing to advance the Credit Union's mission of "making a real difference."

Kathleen Lawler Bodmer

I am an estate planning and business transaction attorney, originally from MA, having graduated from Tufts University with a BS in Clinical Psychology, and then Boston University School of Law, with a Juris Doctor in 1994. In 2000, I moved to California, and after almost four years at a local firm, opened my own law practice in December of 2003. In my business practice, I assist clients regarding entity formation, contract negotiation, and purchase and sale of businesses, while my estate planning practice focuses on helping families plan for today and beyond, giving them control over their lives and assets, including addressing such issues as gifting, business succession planning, and avoiding the probate court. I see serving on the Board of Bay Fed as a chance to learn so much about the financial industry in a hands-on way, as well as a way to give back to our local community. To be able to contribute to our community through working with such a solid institution as Bay Fed is an ideal combination and I enjoy the positive challenges serving on the Board continues to bring.

Kenny Au

Kenny Au is the Vice President of Digital Services. As such, he oversees all digital delivery of services including phone, online and mobile banking, and chat services. Kenny joined the Credit Union in 2018, bringing with him more than two decades of experience. He holds a degree in Technical Engineering. Before coming to Bay Federal, he held management positions at credit unions, including NuVision Credit Union, Financial Partners Credit Union, and FAA First Federal Credit Union. Kenny served on the NCR Advisory Board and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce. He is currently the "Ambassador for Fun" for Bay Federal by serving as leader of the Bay Federal Fun Squad, which provides fun contests and events for employees, and loves barbecuing and food!

Megan Rhodes

Megan Rhodes is the Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer. Megan joined the organization in 2008 and has over 30 years in the financial services industry. Megan oversees all aspects of consumer lending, mortgage lending, and loan operations. Prior to joining the Credit Union, Megan spent 25 years working in the Bay Area in the mortgage banking field and was responsible for a variety of functions including: wholesale and retail lending operations, risk assessment and management, regulatory compliance, and loss mitigation. Megan has a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from San Jose State University. Megan has been active in many local fundraising activities in support of The Alzheimer's Association, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County, United Way of Santa Cruz County, Children's Miracle Network and Second Harvest. Megan serves on the Board of Habitat for Humanity.

Michael Leung

I graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). I then continued my education, obtaining my Master's degree, also in EECS. I have worked for the semiconductor giant Intel, and the small company SEI, designing chips for PC motherboards and consumer electronics. In my spare time, I volunteer for various Chinese charities and non-profit organizations. I am very impressed by the culture and philosophy of Bay Federal Credit Union, and as a Board Member, I will endeavor to share that with the community. My commitment to the community and to supporting a local Credit Union will be fulfilled by my contributions to Bay Federal's future successes in developing great loan and deposit products that meet the criteria of people helping people.

Michelle Berridge

As a proud member of Bay Federal Credit Union for more than 20 years, I am honored to be a part of the Supervisory Committee. My professional experience is derived from many different industries; movie and television production studios, event planning, manufacturing, beverage distribution, non-profits and technology. I began my career as an administrative assistant for a movie studio in Burbank then shifted to accounting when I relocated to Santa Cruz county. I moved up through the ranks of several organization's finance and accounting departments to my current position as Controller for Alvarez Technology Group located in Salinas. I hold B.S. degree in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting from the University of Phoenix where I graduated with honors.

Pat Pfremmer

I joined Bay Federal Credit Union in 1965, when I enrolled in UCSC's Pioneer Class. In 1981 I was elected to the Board of Directors, where I served for ten years, including two terms as chairperson. I was asked to come back as a member of the Supervisory Committee in 2003 and I currently serve as the Committee's co-chair. I am a strong believer in active community involvement. Throughout my 35-year career as a law librarian at UCSC's McHenry Library and at the Santa Cruz County Law Library I participated in numerous non-profits, service clubs and local and state government citizen committees. I am a life member of Santa Cruz Women Lawyers and enjoy activities sponsored by the UCSC Women's Club. I am presently self-employed, engaged in highly specialized research with a focus on successful adoption reunions, locating difficult-to-find-people and elder abuse fraud. Bay Federal has been my primary financial institution for almost 50 years! I feel privileged to be affiliated with with such a prominent local credit union and I am so proud of all who work and volunteer here.

Patrick Beaver

Patrick Beaver has made lending his career for the better part of the past decade. He came to Bay Federal in 2009, starting as a teller, and worked his way up to a Home Loan Consultant. "I make an effort to know the products we offer inside and out so I can best help our members," Patrick says.

Patty Winters

Patty Winters is the Vice President of Human Resources and Development. Patty joined the organization in 2012 and has over 20 years of experience of human resources, talent management, finance, and operations experience in a variety of industries in the Silicon Valley including the high-tech and medical device segments. Patty is responsible for business continuity and oversees all aspects of human resources, including compensation, benefits, and employee relations. Patty also oversees facilities, including all Bay Federal branch locations to ensure the security and safety of staff, members, and visitors on Credit Union premises. Patty was previously Vice President of Human Resources and Administration of Vertical Circuits, Inc. Patty is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR). She also serves on the Agency Relations Committee, Allocations Committee and the Campaign Committee for United Way of Santa Cruz County. Patty earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Purdue University.

Piret Harmon

I moved to California in 1993 after being born and raised in Estonia. I have an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA, and I have filled diverse positions in both private and public industries. I have been the General Manager of Scotts Valley Water District since July of 2013 after working at the Santa Cruz Water Department for eight years. My current responsibilities include overseeing strategic planning and daily operations of a nimble and forward-looking water agency in a community that values livability, collaboration, and innovation. I serve on the Boards of California Utilities Executive Management Association, Regional Water Management Foundation, and Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce, in addition to Bay Federal Credit Union. Time is a very valuable resource for me and therefore I am focused on achieving objectives using straightforwardness, efficiency, and good judgment. I love to travel, learn, connect with interesting people, and collect new experiences. I am driven and always looking for ways to turn challenges into opportunities.

Randi LeBlanc

Randi LeBlanc has extensive knowledge of the local real estate industry and enjoys providing exceptional service to our members. Prior to joining Bay Federal, she accumulated 19 years of experience at mortgage companies, including Aptos Mortgage, Santa Cruz Financial, and Chase Bank. "I love meeting new people and helping them get into the homes of their dreams. My favorite part of this job is the customer service aspect," she said. Originally from the East Coast, Randi has spent her adult life in Santa Cruz County, where she and her husband of 25 years have raised their son.

Richard Mills

I have been a proud volunteer of Bay Federal Credit Union since 1975, concurrently working professionally in business and education for over thirty years. After receiving a B.A. in Business Administration from Fresno State University and a Master's Degree in Business Education from San Jose State University, I spent four years as a National Bank examiner for the Comptroller of the Currency. I went on to spend thirty years teaching business to high school students. I also serve as the Treasurer of High Street Community Church in Santa Cruz and Park Hall Trust in Ben Lomond. I've been a Bay Federal member since 1972 and have always been impressed with Bay Federal's commitment to leadership in the community. I find it inspiring that so many employees volunteer their time to so many community organizations. Bay Federal also supports the community through education programs and consistent training of their employees to better serve our members. Being on the Supervisory Committee, overseeing the auditing of Bay Federal and attending Board meetings, I see how local professionals can serve through their leadership and dedication. I am consistently amazed by how many quality individuals commit their time and energy to help our members and their financial needs.

Richard Roark - CTO, SVP

Richard Roark is the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Richard joined Bay Federal in 2016 to lead the Technology and Information Security departments. In his role, he is committed to ensuring the best and most secure banking experience for members. He comes to Bay Federal with extensive knowledge in the financial services industry, as well as a personal commitment to team building and best-of-breed technologies. Richard was previously the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Travis Credit Union, where he was employed for 20-plus years. At Travis, Richard also served as the VP of Information Technology, VP of Process Improvement and Network Security, and Assistant VP of Network Security and Operations. Richard is an alum of the Credit Union Executives Society and has earned the Certified Chief Executive designation. Rick Weiss is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Rick joined the organization in 2013 and has 27 years of experience of financial leadership within the credit union industry. Rick oversees all aspects of accounting and finance. Prior to joining Bay Federal, Rick was VP, Finance for First Tech Federal Credit Union. Rick earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance from San Jose State University. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County and is a past-Chair of the Santa Cruz County Business Council.

Ryan Cash - SVP

Ryan Cash is the Senior Vice President and Chief Experience Officer. Ryan oversees the coordination and delivery of the member experience through all delivery channels, including the branch network, call center, ATMs, and digital banking solutions. Ryan joined the organization in 2015 and brings more than a 15 years of experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining Bay Federal, Ryan worked in a variety of management roles, including VP of Consumer Lending at Financial Partners Credit Union, Manager of Consumer Lending, Underwriting, and Credit Risk at Logix Federal Credit Union and Operations Manager at Santa Cruz Community Credit Union. Ryan has an MBA from Pepperdine University and a bachelor's degree from UC Santa Cruz. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Cruz County.

Shawfeng Dong

I have been a loyal member of Bay Federal Credit Union for 20 years. My experience started when I received an auto loan from them after I moved here from China as a graduate student at the University of California, Santa Cruz. That loan started a great experience at what I now call my favorite local financial institution. I love the Credit Union's philosophy and values, and how Bay Federal gives back to the community.

Sheila Joyce Kellerman

I am a Certified Public Accountant with more than 25 years of experience in business finance, accounting, and taxation. I earned my M.S. degree in Taxation and a B.A. degree in Accounting from San Jose State University, and I am a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. I was drawn to take a volunteer role with Bay Federal due to the Credit Union's unwavering commitment not only to its members but to the entire community. Bringing knowledge and experience from advising others as well as operating my own business, S.J. Kellerman & Associates, I feel I can actively contribute to the goals of the Credit Union. As a member-owned not-for-profit, Bay Federal is in the business of reinvesting in its people and the community through superior member service, excellent employee benefits, and a large network of community support and financial education. I am honored to do my part on the board to continue to support and uphold those values.

Suzanne Shaug

I am a Human Resources Professional with more than 25 years of experience in Human Resource Management, Benefits and Training. I recently joined a new division of Central Network Retail Group (CNRG) in California - Outdoor Supply Hardware as their Regional Human Resources Manager. I also create handmade crafts as a sideline, and sell through Etsy and at other ad-hoc locations. I am a long-time member and volunteer to local credit unions, because unlike banks they take a more personal interest in the needs of their members rather than implementing general policies and procedures with the assumption that "one size fits all." I had been watching Bay Fed for several years after ending my previous volunteer job with another credit union due to personal relocation. I am honored to have been chosen to be a member and co-chair of the Supervisory Committee. I am inspired by Bay Federal's focus on serving and investing in our local community, both as a business and as individual employees who volunteer for a variety of charitable events on their own time outside of work. Together, we are "making a real difference" in our members' financial lives and in the community as a whole.

Taylor Bateman - Chairman

I am the Community Development Director for the City of Scotts Valley where I have worked since 2001. I have a B.A. in History from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Master of Public Administration from San Jose State. While serving on the Board of Bay Federal, I want to continue the long tradition of bettering the financial lives of the membership. I have utilized the financial services of member-owned institutions for most of my adult life and have seen firsthand the difference that credit unions can make. I am a strong supporter of the Bay Federal philosophy of "people helping people" and the exceptional service and financial products that this creates.

Tonée Picard - EVP

Tonée joined the Credit Union in 2006. Prior to joining Bay Federal, she worked as an executive in the software industry. Tonée provides leadership and is responsible for activities that directly impact the brand and culture of the Credit Union. As a member of the Executive Team, she has direct responsibility for strategic planning, marketing, human resources, facilities, information technology, financial education, project and program development, community and member engagement, organizational development, employee training, and management team leadership and education. In her role, she partners with the CEO, EVP/COO, and Board of Directors to ensure effective channel operations, financial management, community partnership, and a great member experience. Tonée has an MBA from Golden Gate University and is a graduate of CUES CEO Institute, where she earned the Certified Credit Union Executive designation. She also has a certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Tonée currently serves on the Board of Directors for Santa Cruz Community Foundation, the Community Board at Palo Alto Medical Foundation and Sutter Hospital, and the Cabrillo Women Educational Scholarship Committee. Yesenia Alvarez is our bilingual Home Loan Consultant, and has spent her entire life in Santa Cruz County. Yesenia began her career as a Loan Coordinator, Junior Loan Officer, and Loan Officer prior to joining the team at Bay Federal in 2015. Her goal of "helping our members understand their mortgages and save money" is evidenced in her personalized service. Yesenia holds a B.S. in Business Administration from San Jose State University and resides in Watsonville with her husband and two children.
