COMMONS

In 2005, the University Libraries and Office of Information Technology collaborated to create an innovative learning environment for students. Spaces were repurposed to support group study, equipment checkout, and services ranging from research and writing help to a variety of technology services. The goal was to bring together the services students need to do research, complete assignments, and learn skills for the future. The Commons has become a hub of activity, open 24-hours five nights a week, and providing an evolving array of services and technologies... The Commons offers equipment for checkout such as laptops, scanners, calculators, cameras, video equipment, and more... Enhancing the academic experience of the UT Knoxville campus with essential library services and spaces for study, research, and teaching.
