The cottage is located in the Tamar Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty and a designated world heritage site. The River Tamar marks the border between Cornwall and Devon. The Tamar Valley provides a wealth of archaeological and historic interest with its fascinating history of mining and trading along the Tamar River. There is a tidal slipway less than a mile away at Cotehele Quay and the tidal reaches of the river Tamar are ideal for bird watching. The pretty and vibrant village of Calstock is less than two miles away and has further hostelries for eating and drinking. A short drive away is the well known St Mellion Golf & Country Club. Sea fishing trips can be taken from the historic City of Plymouth and horse riding on Dartmoor can be easily arranged. Other activities available include canoeing and on and off road cycling, which the owners will be happy to arrange. Tea and homemade cakes or a bottle of wine will be available on arrival...
