Adrienne McCurdy

Adrienne started working at Crooked Creek when she was 16 years old. She is a graduate of Hinds Community College where she obtained her Veterinary Technology degree. Adrienne and her husband reside in Scott County along with their two cats. She has a passion for animal dentistry and enjoys working on large animals.

Cathy McMillian

Cathy was born in Birmingham, Alabama and moved to Jackson, MS in 1992. She has two children and four grandchildren. She has four dogs and a cat. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys helping find stray pets a home.

Dorothy Walker

Dorothy Walker, aka Aunt Dorothy, handles the accounting activities for Crooked Creek. Dorothy is a native of Pelahatchie and after a 25-year career with the State of Mississippi - Department of Finance and Administration; she retired to be a stay at home mom. However, she was soon working again as secretary of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she is a lifelong member. She retired from this position after about 14 years. When Dr. Rhodes and Dr. Edwards opened Crooked Creek Animal Hospital in 2000, she began working for them as their accountant. She is here only part-time but truly enjoys being a part of the clinic family. Dorothy is married to Ricky D. Walker and they live in the Shiloh community. Together, they have 3 children - Rebecca Buffington (Wilson), Johnny Walker (Wendy), and Ricky Walker (Renee), 5 grandchildren - Jonathan Walker, Jacob and Austin Reeves, Ashton and Ben Buffington, and 1 great-granddaughter, Kenzie Walker. Dorothy is also involved with Explorers Bible Study in Brandon and has attended this study for 20 years and been Administrator for 10 years. Other hobbies include church work, reading, yard work and cooking. Her most enjoyable times are spent with family, especially her grandsons, Ashton and Ben.

Dr. Charles Edwards

Dr. Edwards grew up on a poultry and cattle farm in rural Scott County, Ms. His dad, Mac, worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier. His mom, Linda, operated the farm and raised three boys, Charles, Andy and Jonathon. He is the eldest of the three. His earliest memories on the farm involved feeding baby calves at his granddaddy's dairy, gathering eggs, and tending to cows and chickens on the family's broiler and beef cattle farm. His younger brother, Jonathon works for the Railroad in Meridian, and other younger brother Andy works for CF Industries in Yazoo City, MS. He graduated from Sebastopol High School and East Central Community College. He then attended MSU and majored in Biological Education before being accepted into Mississippi State University's College of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated in 1990 with D.V.M. His first job was with Roger's Veterinary Hospital, now called Pinebelt Veterinary Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS, followed by a three year tour with USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service. After a 3-year stay with USDA-FSIS, he went to work for Tadlock Stockyard in Forest and also worked part-time for B.C. Rogers Poultry Company as their company veterinarian. During the years working for Tadlock Stockyard and B.C. Rogers, Dr. Edwards also had a mobile large animal practice. In the Fall of 1999, Dr. Edwards left B.C. Rogers and joined with Dr. Staci Rhodes to start Crooked Creek Animal Hospital. He continued to work for Tadlock Stockyard until the Spring of 2008. He is a member of Shiloh Methodist Church, MS Cattlemen's Association, Society of Theriogenology, and serves as the central district representative for the MS Veterinary Medical Association. When Dr. Edwards is not working at Crooked Creek, he enjoys spending time on the farm where he has a commercial beef cow/calf operation. He also enjoys doing mission work with the Baptist Medical Dental Mission International in Central America. Dr. Edwards is married to Carlotta Knight Edwards. They make their home in Morton, MS. Carlotta has mixed flock of backyard chickens and enjoys giving eggs to family and friends. They have a Miniature Pinscher named Pippi, a teacup Chihuahua named Lyla Kate, and a Welsh Corgi/Chihuahua mix named Mesa.

Dr. Staci Rhodes

A native of Pelahatchie, Dr. Rhodes attended Mississippi State University, earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1993. Dr. Rhodes partnered with Dr. Edwards and together they opened Crooked Creek Animal Hospital in 1999. Dr. Rhodes's husband, Kurt, is a native of Pelahatchie as well and is self-employed. They have three children; Trevor, Peyton, and Trey. Dr. Rhodes enjoys spending time with her family as well sky diving and snorkeling. They are members of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Dr. Rhodes's special interests in the veterinary field is small animal medicine as well as equine medicine.

Georganna Nutt

Georganna, C.V.T., graduated from Hinds Community College with a degree in Veterinary Technology in May 2004. She came to work at Crooked Creek Animal Hospital after graduating, working through 2009, and very much likes the exposure that working in a busy mixed animal practice brings. From performing dental exams and cleanings, to assisting with surgeries, Georganna is enjoying providing excellent animal care with many fun and enthusiastic people who feel the same way towards animal health. She previously worked for the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she appreciated another aspect of animal care, but is very glad to be back in a clinic helping out companion animals.

Haley Collins

Haley is a graduate of Pelahatchie High School's Class of 2011. She continued her education at East Mississippi Community COllege where she was a student athlete for 2 years before transferring to MS State University. At MS State, Haley obtained a Bachelor's degree in Animal and Dairy Science with a concentration in Veterinary Science and a minor in Biology. Haley, her husband Ryan, and their son Ripken, are residents of Scott County and attend Pinelake Church. She enjoys spending time outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. Haley has lots of fur babies: seven dogs, Tank, Cash, Ava, Sam, Pip, Cricket, and Penny. A goat named Petunia, a sheep named Stella, Candy the miniature pony, and Rowdy a roan quarter horse. Haley has been a part of the Crooked Creek family since 2012 and thoroughly enjoys caring for all of God's creatures.

Jess Brown

Jess is a high school graduate of Poplarville High School. He attended Hinds College where he majored in Agriculture and Veterinary Technician, and earned his license as a Certified Veterinary Technician at Mississippi State University. He also attended Pearl Community College where he graduated as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He owns a 5th generation Family Farm in Poplarville, Ms., where they still have the original old stock of "Rakestraw" Pinewoods cattle, "Native" Gulfcoast sheep, Pine Tacky horses, and Longleaf "Yeller Pine" Timber. He has been with Crooked Creek since 2001. He also manages Horse Stomp Ranch, which is a Seedstock ranch for Registered Gray Brahman cattle and Golden Certified F-1 Braford cattle. Jess enjoys all aspects of the cattle industry and also traveling.

Kim Eure

Kim is a graduate of Pearl High School and attended the Veterinary Technology Program at Hinds Community College. Before coming to Crooked Creek, she worked at a small animal practice in Jackson for 19 years. When she isn't working she enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian, and her two daughters. She has two dogs: Ginger and Pancho.

Kristin Benson

Kristin was born and raised in Flowood, MS. She currently resides in Pelahatchie. Kristin is married with two daughters and three dogs. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. Kristin is also our wonderful Kennel Manager!

Melinda Pickle

Melinda lives in Puckett with her husband and four awesome boys. They have horses and dogs. Melinda has always loved animals and enjoys being able to take care of them at the clinic when they are away from home.

Misty Harris

Misty is a native Texan and she married and moved to Mississippi in 1989. She has two children, two dogs, two grandchildren, and two granddogs. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Morgan Brown

Morgan is a graduate of Hinds Community College where she obtained her degree in Veterinary Technology. She loves working in a mixed animal practice. She also enjoys riding horses and playing softball on the weekends.
