Del Popolo began as a food truck on the streets of San Francisco in May 2012. Created by Jon Darsky, the truck quickly garnered international acclaim for its soft, Neapolitan-style pizzas, as well as for its novel food truck architecture including a glass-encased shipping container featuring an Italian-made, wood-burning brick oven... In 2015, Del Popolo expanded to include a brick-and-mortar restaurant in San Francisco's Nob Hill, featuring Darsky's sought-after pies and a changing menu of market-driven dishes. The San Francisco Chronicle's awarded the restaurant 3 stars shortly after its opening... Del Popolo's mission has always been to make high-quality, hand made food more accessible (Del Popolo translates to "of the people" after all!).
