David began practicing law in 1995, where he practiced corporate law and real estate at a number of law firms, including some of the largest Florida firms at that time. David has since left the large firm lifestyle in favor of opening his own law firm where he can devote himself entirely to his clients and not spend his time dealing with the red-tape and administrative headaches of the larger firms.
David practices in the areas of real estate and corporate law with a concentration on complex transactions. He routinely represents large developers, construction companies, and businesses on a host of transactions and enjoys the challenge of working on sophisticated and complex matters.
David is a 1995 graduate of the University of Miami School of Law. In his spare time, David enjoys being in the outdoors and is an avid hiker and skier, spending time in his home in Colorado. David has three children and a beautiful wife Abbie.
David's practice focuses on all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions including the representation of buyers and sellers in real property transactions, the representation of lenders and borrowers in financings and the preparation and negotiation of leases for both landlords and tenants. David also dedicates a portion of his practice to corporate law and regularly represents businesses in a variety of transactions. Prior to forming Kahan & Kligler, P.A., David worked at Boies Schiller Flexner, LLP, an Am Law 100 international law firm in Fort Lauderdale.
David was recently selected to the Super Lawyers Florida Rising Stars List, an honor reserved for lawyers who exhibit excellence and are under 40 years old. This distinction is only given to 2.5% of the lawyers in Florida. David is a 2010 graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, where he was a Dean's Academic Merit scholarship recipient.
David prides himself on his responsiveness and in providing the best services possible to his clients. David is a sports fan and enjoys playing tennis and basketball. David has two children, Avery and Miles, and lives in Boca Raton with his children and wife, Carly, who is also a practicing attorney.
