Dr Averil Tse

Dr Averil Tse undertook her undergraduate dental training at the University of Otago, New Zealand, graduating with Distinction in 2001. Averil then worked as a Dental House Surgeon for two years at Auckland and Middlemore Hospitals in New Zealand, before entering general private practice. Averil came to Melbourne to commence her specialist training in Endodontics at the University of Melbourne, graduating with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in 2009. Since then, Averil has been in full-time specialist private practice at Endodontic Associates. Averil is also involved in lecturing and clinical teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate dental students at the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University in Bendigo. Averil lectures on various topics, including the diagnosis and management of cracked teeth, avoidance and repair of perforations, and initial trauma triage and management, at continuing education courses and meetings nationally. Averil has a particular interest in the management of traumatic dental injuries and cracked teeth. Averil is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists (ANZAE). Averil also currently serves on the committee of the Australian Society of Endodotology (VIC Branch), having recently completed terms as the Secretary/Treasurer and President of the Society. Averil is the immediate past-Chairperson of the Australian Dental Association (VIC Branch) regional study group in the city.

Dr Jeff Ward

Dr Jeff Ward obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction, from The University of Otago in New Zealand in 1996. Jeff spent three years as a Dental Officer in The New Zealand Army before commencing his specialist Endodontic training at the University of Melbourne, obtaining his Graduate Diploma of Clinical Dentistry and Master of Dental Science from The University of Melbourne in 2002. Jeff became a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2008 and Jeff is also a Fellow of The Pierre Fauchard Academy. Jeff is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists. Jeff is also actively involved in several dental and endodontic groups and serves on the Australian Dental Association (Vic Branch) DPBRN eviDent committee. Jeff has also served as the Secretary/Treasurer and also the President of the Australian Society of Endodontology (Vic Branch). Jeff is also heavily involved in Rugby Union in Victoria and with Dental Trauma in Sports and has served on the medical teams for the Melbourne Rebels and Australian Wallabies Rugby Union teams.

Dr Mark Evans

Mark is also heavily involved in teaching postgraduate students (specialists in training) at The University of Melbourne and he was appointed as an examiner for the Australian Dental Council in 2001, a role he held until 2015. He has lectured nationally and internationally and has published several articles in local and international medical and dental journals. He has also been awarded Fellowships with The Pierre Fauchard Academy, The Academy of Dentistry International and The International College of Dentists for his work in the dental profession. Mark has served with the Australian Dental Association on several committees, as well as ADA State Branch Council. He also served as Secretary of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists and was a committee member of the Australian Society of Endodontology (Vic Branch) for over ten years. Mark maintains a busy teaching schedule at Melbourne University and is heavily involved in continuing education for the dental profession. Mark was appointed Clinical Associate Professor of Endodontics at The University of Melbourne in 2016.

Dr Oliver Pope

Dr Oliver Pope graduated from the University of Queensland, receiving a Bachelor of Dental Science with First Class Honours. The early years of his dental career were spent as a Dental Officer in the Royal Australian Navy, through which he completed multiple deployments. After a period of working in general dental practice, he completed a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics at the University of Melbourne. He was the recipient of the inaugural Ephraim Ehrmann Prize in Endodontics for best overall performance in the degree and his research into Cone-Beam Computed Tomography has been published in the international Journal of Endodontics. Dr Pope maintains close ties with the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University lecturing and demonstrating for dental students. Dr Pope is also heavily involved in the continued professional development of dentists, teaching both overseas and Australian trained dentists. Dr Pope is available for all forms of endodontic treatment, including root canal therapy and emergency appointments at his treatment rooms on Level 4, 20 Collins Street, Melbourne.
