Benjamin R. Strauss

Benjamin R. Strauss is a native of Roswell, Georgia. He earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Vanderbilt University, graduating summa cum laude before graduating from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Strauss completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center before pursuing a fellowship (additional subspecialty training) in Cornea and External Diseases at Tufts University and the Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. As a result of this additional training, Dr. Strauss is trained to manage complex diseases of the cornea and ocular surface, both medically and surgically. He is capable of the latest Corneal procedures, including corneal cross-linking, and partial thickness cornea transplants, in addition to full-thickness cornea transplants, intraocular lens exchanges, and cataract surgery. He is also trained in Laser Vision Correction, including LASIK and PRK. Dr. Strauss is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is also passionate about teaching Ophthalmology! During his training, he enjoyed teaching medical students, his fellow trainees, and even the supervising doctors, as well as his patients. He would like to continue this work, teaching patients and other medical professionals about the importance of eye health." Dr. Strauss sees patients in our Lawrenceville and Braselton offices. When he's not in the office, Dr. Strauss enjoys music, cycling, and spending time with his wife and children.

Brian A. Kahn

Dr. Brian Kahn is a native of Atlanta and has been in practice as an Atlanta optometrist for the past 24 years. He is a fourth generation optometrist who specializes in hard-to-fit contact lenses for conditions like keratoconus, corneal transplants, and presbyopia. He is board certified by the American Board of Optometry and provides care for pre/post LASIK, dry eye disease, glaucoma, and diabetic and hypertensive eye disease. Dr. Kahn is a graduate of Pace Academy in Atlanta and earned his BA from the University of Texas, Austin. He completed his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, and interned at Omni Eye Services in Atlanta. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his leadership and expertise in Optometry. Those include being named Young Optometrist of the Year, as well as Georgia Optometrist of the Year. He is a member and administrator for Vision Source, the largest national network of private optometric practices in the country. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Georgia Optometric Association, Greater Atlanta Optometric Association, and the AOA Contact Lens Section. Dr. Brian Kahn is a native of Atlanta and has been in practice as an Atlanta optometrist for the past 24 years. He is a graduate of Pace Academy in Atlanta and earned his BA from the University of Texas, Austin.

Brigette B. Rabitsch

Dr. Rabitsch provides care in the areas of ocular disease, contact lenses, and family practice optometry. She completed her doctorate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. Dr. Rabitsch provides care in the areas of ocular disease, contact lenses, and family practice optometry. In June, 2011, Dr. Rabitsch was among the first 500 doctors in the country to complete the rigorous process of board certification by the American Board of Optometry. As a Diplomate of the ABO, Dr. Rabitsch is committed to excellence and lifelong learning in the field of optometry. In 2006, Dr. Rabitsch received the distinction of Young Optometrist of the Year by her colleagues in the over 600-member Georgia Optometric Association. From 2004-2006, Dr. Rabitsch served as the president of the 9th district of the Georgia Optometric Association. Currently, Dr. Rabitsch mentors as part of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry's Doctorate Student Mentor program. While at UAB, Dr. Rabitsch was an active member of the Beta Sigma Kappa academic honor society and the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. As an optometry student, she served as part of a medical missions team to Belize. Most recently, Dr. Rabitsch participated in a medical missions trip to Haiti, along with a team of students and colleagues from UAB. Locally, Dr. Rabitsch serves at the Lions Lighthouse Clinic and the Good Samaritan Clinic to provide eye care for those in need. Dr. Rabitsch graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from the University of Georgia Honors Program, majoring in microbiology and participating in an undergraduate experimental research program. She completed her doctorate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. Dr. Rabitsch resides in Atlanta with her husband and their two children. They enjoy traveling, photography and serving with the hospitality team of their church.

Donald E. Poland

A native of Kingston, Tennessee, Dr. Poland graduated from medical school from the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1982. He performed his ophthalmology residency at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

Dr. Jeremy Chartash

Dr. Jeremy Chartash is an optometrist with a focus in ocular disease and refractive surgery, with more than 12 years of ophthalmic experience throughout the Sandy Springs, Newnan, Decatur and Morrow areas of Georgia.

Dr. Pooja Mally

Dr. Pooja Mally is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained in Oculoplastic & Orbital Surgery. She manages and treats diseases related to the eyebrows, eyelids, tear drainage system, and eye socket. She also specializes in cosmetic and laser procedures, including Botox and facial filler injections. Dr. Mally earned her Bachelor of Sciences at Duke University She received her medical doctorate at Drexel University College of Medicine, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. She completed an internship at UPMC-Mercy Hospital, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Drexel University College of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Mally went on to complete fellowship training in Oculoplastic & Orbital Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology at Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. Mally was awarded a scholarship to study at the National Eye Institute, and has authored numerous publications and book chapters primarily related to facial aging. She has presented her research on midfacial aging and aesthetic Botox injections at national Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery symposiums.

Dr. Ye Ji Kim

Dr. Ye Ji Kim is an optometrist with a background in primary care optometry, pre- and post-operative refractive surgery as well as advanced care and ocular disease.

Frank L. Winski

Dr. Frank Winski joined Georgia Eye Associates in 1998. He has extensive experience meeting the needs of families. His practice includes evaluating school aged children who may need glasses all the way up to the needs of an older adult that is developing cataracts or macular degeneration. He enjoys fitting people of all ages for contact lenses and has developed particular expertise in hard-to-fit conditions such as keratoconus, corneal transplants, and presbyopia. For those patients hoping to go without glasses or contacts, Dr. Winski can determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK or other refractive procedures. After obtaining his doctorate of optometry at the New England College of Optometry he finished an ocular disease residency at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta. Optometric residencies are 13-month post graduate training programs that are completed by less than 10% of practicing optometrists. This residency gave him the training necessary to manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, diseases of the cornea, and post operative care of surgical patients. He is board certified by the American Board of Optometry. As an Atlanta optometrist, Dr. Winski is proud to help the people in his community improve their vision. Dr. Winski is originally from Rochester, NY, but has called Atlanta home since 1989. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association. He is a past president of the Greater Atlanta Optometric Association and has served as a trustee on the board of the Georgia Optometric Association. Kris F. Gillian

Kris F. Gillian, M.D. is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas. He earned his BA from Emory University and was awarded an academic scholarship while graduating from the University of Arkansas with a degree in medicine. Dr. Gillian completed his medical internship at the University of Tennessee and his ophthalmology residency in Pittsburgh. During his residency, Dr. Gillian traveled to Samara, Russia to perform a surgical mission at the hospital of the late Dr. Svyatoslav Fyodorov, known as the "Father of Radial Keratotomy." Dr. Gillian is a board- certified Atlanta ophthalmologist who has been practicing in the area since 2001. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology. He is also a proud member of the Piedmont Clinic. As an Atlanta eye doctor, Dr. Gillian has performed thousands of various surgical procedures in his career. He specializes in premium implant cataract surgery, LASIK, diabetes and glaucoma treatment, macular degeneration management, eyelid surgery, and pterygium removal. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and children. In his spare time, he enjoys travel, scuba, golf, music, and personal fitness.
