Vicky was born and raised in Sussex and studied at the Royal College of Music, London as a bassoon scholar continuing her studies at the Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel, Switzerland with the world-renowned bassoon virtuoso Sergio Azzolini. During her studies she participated in masterclasses in Germany with such luminaries of the bassoon world as Dag Jensen and Klaus Thunemann. Vicky also doubles on the clarinet and saxophone and has been a regular deputy in musicals in London's West End playing up to four different woodwind instruments for each performance. Vicky has freelanced in many top professional orchestras in the UK and abroad and has had trials for bassoon and contrabassoon positions in the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Ballet Sinfonia. In 2016 she was appointed Associate Principal Bassoon in the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. In 2020 Vicky decided to return to the UK to live in Gloucestershire with her family. In her spare time Vicky enjoys baking, karaoke, dog walks and watching Disney films. She is also proud to say that she has already achieved her life ambition of being top of a Fantasy Football league.
