HARLINGEN CHURCH - Key Persons
Anita Davidson joined the Harlingen church family in August of 2019 as Music Director/Organist. A native of Bucks County PA, she grew up playing piano, singing in her church choir - then directing it - as well as being active in community choral groups and musical theater.
She is a graduate of The College of New Jersey with a degree in Music Education specializing in voice, and holds a Master's degree from Southeastern University in Curriculum and Instruction. She has been a public music educator for the past 22 years in Ewing Township NJ.
Pastor Chris was installed as the 21st pastor of Harlingen Church in 2017. He is originally from Michigan, explaining his unhealthy devotion to the Detroit Tigers, but has lived in New Jersey since 1989 when he moved here after his discharge from the United States Marine Corps. He taught elementary school for 16 years before returning to school and earning his MDiv from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 2010.
Together with his wife and best friend, Amy, they have raised 3 boys and are enjoying seeing their families begin to grow. They currently have 1 granddaughter and 3 granddogs. Pastor Chris volunteers in the community by serving as the fire chaplain of Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Company #1, serves on the Montgomery Township Veterans' Memorial Committee, and sits on the board of the Montgomery Business Association.
When he is not working or serving on a committee he enjoys reading, gardening, and grilling or smoking dinner.
As a member of the RCA, Harlingen is governed by a Consistory of Elders, Deacons, and Ministers. We believe that the church is to be led by all who are called by God and affirmed by God's Church. Our Minister oversees the daily administration of the church and leads us in our vision to love and serve. Our elders oversee the spiritual needs of our church, members and community, while the deacons oversee the physical needs
