INDUSTRIAL HARVEST

Every Tuesday, the Jane Addams Hull House Museum presents Rethinking Soup, with soup, bread and discussions about food & other timely topics... Industrial Harvest necessarily involved a large amount of research about the massive systems that feed us. What follows is a smattering of essays, maps, and graphics that show what I've found so far... I also bought 1000 bushels of real wheat at a grain elevator in Indiana and had it milled into flour, while setting aside some of it to seed a new crop. I brought the whole truckload (it made about 20 tons) back to Chicago and gave it away to feed people.
