Widely regarded as one of the greatest Women's Soccer coaches in NCAA history, Brian McManus joined La Jolla Soccer in 2012 after 24 years working for the Nomads Soccer Club. McManus began coaching the UCSD Women's soccer program in 1987 and became the seventh most winningest coach in NCAA history. Under Brian's direction, the program won seven NCAA National Championships and was crowned CCAA Conference Champions 11 times in 14 years. In recognition of his coaching excellence, Brian is a four-time recipient of the National Coach of the Year Award and five-time recipient of the Western Region coach of the Year Award. McManus is a native of Scotland where he played professionally for Raith Rovers and Aberdeen and spent 11 years as a semi-professional player and coach. McManus' strength lies in getting out of players what they didn't think was possible. He teaches discipline, commitment and the love for the game. He is also well-known around the country and has been an influential force in college placement for many of the girls he has coached throughout the years.

Heather Hilliard

Heather graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, San Diego in 1990. She was a four-year letter winner on the women's soccer team (1986-1989). During her collegiate playing career, Hilliard reached the NCAA Division III Final Four three of her four seasons. During Heather's senior year, her team won the school's first NCAA Division III National Championship. She holds the all-time career goal scoring record at UC San Diego (70 goals) and was a two-time All-American player. In recognition of her playing success, Heather was inducted into the UC San Diego Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018. Heather received her Master of Science degree in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1992. Upon graduation, she returned to her alma mater, UC San Diego, where she worked as Assistant Director of Athletics for 8 years. Hilliard resigned from UC San Diego in 2000 to focus on her growing family. She volunteered at a community soccer Club in Carlsbad where she coached her daughters on recreational teams and served as a Recreational Division Director for the league. After much volunteering success, Carlsbad hired her as Director of Recreation and a competitive coach. Heather returned to La Jolla in 2016 when she was hired by La Jolla Youth Soccer as Director of Recreation and Impact coach. She was promoted to Executive Director in 2020.

Kristin Jones

Kristin Jones is a product of the San Diego soccer community. Born and raised in Oceanside, CA, Kristin played club soccer in San Diego before becoming a part of the UCSD Women's soccer program. At UCSD, Kristin was an integral player for a program that made 3 Final Four appearances in the NCAA tournament, bringing home the National Championship 2 out of the 3 years. Kristin is a two time All-American, three time first-team NSCAA All-West Region, three-time All-CCAA selection, and the 2003 CCAA Player of the Year. Immediately after college, Kristin transitioned into coaching at UCSD. After a 16 year coaching career as assistant and Associate Head Coach, she was promoted to Head Coach in 2018 of the program which is now Division 1. During her time coaching UCSD Women's soccer program, the team won 12 conference championships, 7 Regional Championships and made 3 appearances in the NCAA Final Four. In addition to her role at UCSD, she also was the Varsity coach at La Jolla High School for 13 years stepping down after the 2017 season. Her teams captured 3 CIF championships, a Western League title and multiple CIF Championship Final appearances. In 2009, Kristin was named CIF Coach of the Year for San Diego County. Kristin has been Director of Coaching for La Jolla Impact since 2012. Before moving to Impact, Kristin worked closely with Brian McManus as the Assistant Director of the Girls Program at Nomads for 11 years. "Jonesy" is looking to build consistency and a positive learning environment for the kids of La Jolla.
