Our mission is to create a medical home for uninsured families and individuals in Mecklenburg and Union counties. We not only treat our patients physically through primary care and specialty services, but we also provide behavioral health and education to empower and treat the whole individual. Matthews Free Medical Clinic (MFMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that provides free, quality health care to low-income, uninsured people... The Matthews Free Medical Clinic provides free, quality health care to low-income, uninsured individuals in Mecklenburg and Union Counties. We are a nonprofit organization funded by grants, private donations and our annual Hearts & Hands Benefit. We are not a walk-in clinic, all patients must apply to become a patient. Patients recertify annually to verify residential and income requirements.
