An introductory course in still photography concentrating on the use of digital cameras. Topics include the science of capturing light, visual voice, digital capturing processes, optics and equipment, camera essentials (planning, camera prep, settings, physical setup, focus, filters, cleaning of lenses/sensor), choosing a subject, composition and aesthetics, lighting, color correction and retouching, printing and distributing, data wrangling and archiving... A foundational study covering the principles of digital filmmaking with an emphasis on video recording and formats, digital compression and file systems, production planning, story and script, cameras and lenses, sound recording, lighting techniques and tools, composition and shooting practices, nonlinear editing, sound mixing, color correction, special effects, postproduction, legal considerations, distribution, and financing strategies...
