Byron Hughes

Leads student advocacy, support, and mattering & belonging-focused areas, including the campus food pantry and bias education and reporting. He advocates for students while supporting them through educational, social, cultural, and personal development opportunities. Byron joined UT from Virginia Tech, where he served as the dean of students. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in higher education from Virginia Tech, his master's degree in student affairs in higher education from Ball State University, and his bachelor's degree from Salisbury University.

Chandra Myrick

Myrick previously worked in housing and residence life at Florida State University, Georgia State University, and the University of Georgia. She earned a doctoral and master's degree in higher education from Florida State University, and a bachelor's degree in print journalism from Troy State University.

Diane Goble

Jill Zambito

Job Titles:
  • Assistant Vice Chancellor for Health & Wellbeing
Leads student health and wellness areas focused on providing student support and service. She chairs Advisory Council on Admission for students attempting to gain admission after disclosing misconduct background and serves on the Threat Assessment Team to assist students in distress. Zambito previously served as the director of Student Involvement and Leadership Development at Northern Illinois University. She served as the director of Off-Campus and Non-Traditional Student Services and worked at North Central College as the director of Student Activities and Orientation. She has a Doctorate of Education from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Science in Education in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications and Spanish from Baldwin-Wallace College.

Mark Alexander

  • Assistant Vice Chancellor for Administration & Finance
Guides all levels of division staff regarding budget management and fiscal policy. Alexander monitors the division's capital project progress and coordinates the development of short and long-range plans for the maintenance and improvement of division facilities. He also serves as a member of the Emergency Operations Center, Space Committee, and Campus Planning & Design Committee. Alexander has been with the university since his arrival in August of 1989 as director of the University Center. He has a Master of Architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans and a Master of Science in human resources management from Western Connecticut State College. His primary function is handling the fiscal operations of the Division of Student Life.

Susannah Marshman

Leads major student engagement and leadership initiatives that significantly impact student learning, engagement, success, and supporting the Volunteer Experience. She guides the engagement of students through intentional programs and services that build leadership, increase campus community, and develops students personally. Susannah joined UT from Coastal Carolina University where she served as the assistant vice president for student engagement. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in higher education from Florida State University, her master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Virginia Tech, and her bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech.
