Wood can be unpredictable. We choose the best pieces we can find and inspect them for visible defects. We do not and can not see into the wood for internal defects. If you drop your clubs, they may brake. If you hit your clubs on a hard surface or hit them together, they may crack, dent or brake. If not properly cared for, wood will crack, warp or split over time. What are some of the other things that will cause wood to crack or some other adverse reaction? One is leaving them by a heat source like a fire place, heater or the like. Another is to leave them in the sun, rain or high humidity for a prolonged amount of time, then bring them into a dry or warm environment.
