Andrea Frosini

Job Titles:
  • Support for Technology Transfer, Intellectual Property Manager - Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences
Thanks to the huge experience in processes and procedures for technology transfer, at the Cluster Andrea supports the activities of valorisation of research and management of intellectual property, and he also follows the activities related to the European projects in which the Cluster is involved. He is the manager of the intellectual property activities for Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences, and is responsible of the Office for the Valorization of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Research (UVaR) of Tuscany Region, coordinating with institutions and institutional subjects the exploitation of research results and the development of policies related to technology transfer and clinical experimentation. Andrea holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine from the University of Milan, Chemical Sciences.

Andrea Paolini

Job Titles:
  • Representative of the Managing Body in the Cluster Steering Committee, General Manager - Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences
Andrea, as representative of the managing body, shares with the Cluster Steering Committee the operational strategy, opportunities, potential issues, updates and possible changes. He is responsible for relationships with institutional subjects (Tuscany Region, industrial associations, research institutions, local administrations) at regional and national level. It represents Tuscany Region in the National Cluster of Life Sciences ALISEI. Since January 2016, he has been a member of the Scientific Committee for Production, Research and Innovation (PRI) of Assobiomedica, and since July 2015 he has been the President of the VITA ITS Foundation for new technologies for life - Tuscany Region. He is also a member of the Regional Commission, Health Section - Confindustria Toscana, and of the Research Commission of IMT - Institute for Advanced Studies (Lucca). Since 2013, he has been a member of the Regional Ethics Committee for Clinical Experimentation, Area Vasta Southeast, Tuscany Region. Since 2010 he has been the General Manager of the Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences, a position he has taken on since he was appointed Head of the administrative department of TLS. Andrea graduated in Economic Science from the University of Siena, with a special focus on research and development processes in the pharmaceutical and biotech sector.

Francesco Mazzini

Job Titles:
  • Project Manager of the Tuscany Life Sciences Cluster - Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences
Francesco coordinates, monitors and promotes the activities of the Cluster. It is the point of reference for requests and reports of opportunities to and from the Cluster members, interacting with all those involved and interested in the Cluster (companies, research institutions, investors, service and product providers, clusters). Since 2012, he has been part of the Cluster team, initially as Technology Transfer manager. Previously, he has carried out research and development activities in the chemical field at university for about 14 years. Francesco holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Pisa.

Francesco Senatore

Job Titles:
  • Support for Business Creation and Development, Business Development, Communication & Projects Manager - Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences.
With over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech field and in business incubation, acceleration and internationalization activities, at the Cluster Francesco supports the creation and development of life sciences startups in Tuscany. Since 2015, he has been director of the VITA ITS Foundation for new technologies for life. He currently holds positions as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Italian Scientific and Technological Parks (APSTI), a member of the Board of Directors of Assobiotec (National Association for the Development of Biotechnology), a member of the Executive Board of the CEBR (Council of European Bio Regions, Brussels). Francesco graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Siena.
