The OSL encourages community-engaged teaching and research through expanded faculty development. We offer workshops, consultations and grants, organize the annual service-learning fellows program, and present awards to faculty for their work in service-learning instruction and research... There are more than 500 service-learning courses throughout all 18 schools and colleges at the University of Georgia. Here are a few examples of what you might expect in a selection of these service-learning courses... The UGA Office of Service-Learning (OSL) supports academic service-learning and community engagement initiatives designed to enhance students' civic and academic learning, promote engaged research that is responsive to community needs, and contribute to the public good through mutually beneficial community-university partnerships.
