Adam Inglut

Adam commenced his career at SAS in 2007. From learning the ropes as a porter, he then worked his way up to helping catalogue the Antique and Fine Art sales.

Adrian Little

Adrian is a key member of the SAS Toy Department, his speciality lies in cataloguing and valuing lead and other figures. He brings a wealth of expertise to the firm with years of previous experience in dealing privately in the toy world.

Bob Leggett

Job Titles:
  • Toys and Train Specialist
Bob joined the Specialist Auction team in January 2011, he works closely with Hugo, meeting clients and undertaking valuations for the Toy and Train Department. He is the lead cataloguer for these sales. Whether you have a single toy or a whole collection of Dinky, Corgi, Diecast, Railways, or other toys he is always pleased to have a look for you. One of his big passions in 00 and H0. Bob is also a keen charity worker.

Christopher Proudfoot

Job Titles:
  • Mechanical Music Specialist
Christopher joined Christie's in 1970, after Cambridge, and took over the cataloguing of musical boxes and gramophones, which he developed into a stand-alone subject at Christie's South Kensington, where he was one of the founder members in 1975. Other subjects that he has covered over the years are Cameras, Scientific Instruments and Antique Tools and Ornamental Turning Equipment. Christopher left Christie's in 2001 and became a consultant, his first sale with SAS was the Roger Thorne collection of gramophones and records, in 2011. Since then, under Christopher's watchful eye, the mechanical music and more traditional side of the music department has gone from strength to strength.

Daniel Agnew

Daniel Agnew joined the SAS team in March 2013, and is a World-renowned expert in Dolls, Dolls' Houses, Teddy Bears and Traditional Toys. Following on from the success of his previous Christie's auctions, and combined with his buying and selling, he joined SAS as a consultant to organise standalone Doll and Teddy Bear sales by pushing them to next level. His auctions started in July 2013, and always include a good mixture of antique and vintage dolls, dolls' houses and their chattels, antique, vintage and collectable Teddy Bears and soft toys, puppets, rocking horses, Noah's Arks, wood, composition and paper traditional toys and much more

Dave Kemp

From an early age Dave has been fascinated by toys and figures. He has been buying and selling for several years now and joined the SAS team to use his in-depth toy knowledge and assist with sorting, lotting and cataloguing collections of vintage and modern toys for our fine toys auctions.

David Howe

David heads up sport memorabilia and the ephemera side of the music department. Outside of work, David is a keen sportsman...

Deborah Rosenthal

Job Titles:
  • Photographer
Deborah joined SAS in 2015 after leaving Christie's having been their Fine Art photographer for 19 years. Deborah often boosts team morale by shooting entertaining catalogue covers and images for the catalogues. Currently based in saleroom one, Deborah shoots a variety of objects from Jewellery to Trains. According to Deborah, the best part of the job is knowing that every day is enjoyably different.

Dominic Foster

Dominic began his career at the age of eighteen working at Andover Saleroom alongside his degree. Dominic began his career at the age of eighteen working at Andover Saleroom alongside studying for his degree. Upon graduation he became manager and auctioneer, and since then has worked across Hampshire in these roles. Since 2017, as well as running his own business, he manages the busy Toy and Train department co-ordinating our many specialists, cataloguing, organising, and conducting the auctions.

Graham Bilbe

Job Titles:
  • Toy and Train Specialist
Graham joined the SAS team in 2014, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge of railways, toy and model trains, and road transport- especially trams and trolleybuses. He is chairman of the local Mortimer Hornby Club, which meets monthly to ‘play trains', but his knowledge (and collection) extend beyond the Hornby Marque. He is also an active member of the Reading Society of Model Engineers-mostly live steam models-and in his spare time is chairman/engineering director of the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft (Nr Doncaster), so he knows a lot about full size transport too!

Helen Eames

Helen joined SAS in March 2022 to assist Daniel in the Doll and Teddy Department Helen's interest and attention to detail are enabling the department to grow, resulting in more lots being consigned and processed, which in turn means more specialist auctions! She brings with her a wealth of experience from the auction world from her time working at Christies.

Hugo Marsh

Job Titles:
  • Specialist for Scientific Instruments and Photographica, Toys and Trains
Before joining Special Auction Services in June 2009 as a Director, Hugo worked at Phillips and later became a Director at Christies, where he ran the Toy and Train Department from 1989 to 2007. Hugo has handled many of the finest collections sold over the last twenty-five years and is looking forward to selling many more in the future. He brings great expertise in his specialised subjects and shares a business practice with the flexibility afforded by a growing business. Hugo's customer liaison is second to none!

Jessica Forrester

Jessica joined the SAS team in early 2017 having some ten years previous experience as an auctioneer and valuer.

Julie Pullen

Job Titles:
  • Administration
Julie has worked with Special Auction Services since 2016. You will find Julie at the helm, manning the front desk at either of our two salerooms depending on the auction timetable. Julie also has a hand in both pre-sale and post-sale administration. From taking calls to booking valuations and appointments to chasing invoices at the end of the sale process. When not at work Julie can be found walking her two little rescue dogs, Ronnie and Reggie and on a Friday morning SAS misses Julie desperately whilst she volunteers at the Cats Protection League.

Ken Britton

Job Titles:
  • Packing Room Manager
Since 2014 Ken has headed up the packing team here at SAS ensuring packages are not only sent out safely and securely but also at a remarkable turnaround rate. Within his role as porter he provides front line customer service to clients as well as logistics support whether moving and organising stock or attending house visits to collect or deliver goods for clients. Ken is very proud of maintaining housekeeping standards at SAS and is essential in ensuring maintenance duties are correctly carried out.

Lynne Butcher

Lynne has been part of the SAS team since 2014. Lynne is often the first point of contact for enquiries... Lynne has been part of the SAS team since 2013. Lynne is often the first point of contact for enquiries and a smiling face as you walk through the doors at SAS. Lynne is also responsible for organising telephone and commission bids pre sale and arranging and sending parcels post sale. Lynne is also a regular at undertaking rostrum duties, being one of the online bidding facility operators.

Mike Spencer

Since 2018 Mike has taken on the role of cataloguing the express camera auctions. He has a keen interest in photography and cameras and has experience with buying and selling them...

Neil Shuttleworth

As a General Valuer Neil can look at assess most items for you, however, he specialises in Jewellery, Watches, Silver, Stamps, Antiques and Fine Art. After obtaining a degree in Fine Art Valuation, Neil spent four years working for Sothebys in Amsterdam, followed by several years as a Business Planning and Strategy Development Specialist. Neil is one of the main auctioneers and you will regularly hear his dulcet tones on auction day, either at one of our salerooms in Newbury, Berkshire or Live on the internet. He is also Thomas' business partner.

Sheena Rampton

Sheena joined SAS in the summer of 2019. Sheena has taken on the vital role of the client account within the business as part of the administration team. Always a friendly face and happy to help Sheena has become an integral part of the SAS team.

Tom Hurst

Job Titles:

Tom joined SAS in 2019 as a Tribal Specialist. Tom has antiques in his blood and having grown up in such a diverse environment decided from a young age that he wanted to specialise specifically in Tribal Art. He has certainly come a long way from digging up fossils and rocks as a child with his father Edward Hurst. For Tom, the hands which made the artefacts are just as significant as the hands which they have subsequently passed through. Tom is recognised industry wise as one to watch for the future of the antique world and is a regular feature at Tribal Art London and in publications such as House & Garden magazine
