STIRLING HOUSE

Built in 1938 and standing in its own grounds on the historical site of the former RAF Stradishall, Stirling House was the home and recreational quarters of the flight officers of Bomber Command during World War II and the delightful old building still retains many of its original features... Over the past sixty five years Stirling House has experienced a chequered history, operating as a flight school for the RAF, a transit camp for displaced Ugandan refugees and even as an open prison. More recently this grand old building, now owned by the National Offender Management Service, has been restored into a residential conference centre and is now open for hire to groups, companies and for private functions... Hold your event in one of the original rooms where the brave young officers of Bomber Command held their legendary dances and sleep in one of the very bedrooms that were, for the war years, their home.
