Barry Terry

Barry has been a member of TSCC for approximately 40 (!) years, and as such, has a wealth of experience in the church that he brings to being an elder. He has been married to his wife, Patty, since 2005, and has two adult step-daughters, Jennifer Smallwood and JoDee Liebert, that have given him the privilege of being grandpa to 4 grandchildren. He has a servant's heart, and you can often find him helping set up the main auditorium or serving in some way that facilitates people getting close to Jesus. Barry graduated from Mitchell High School in 1979 before attending two years at Cincinnati Bible College. He works in New Albany at Beach Mold & Tool.

Daniel Lee

While Daniel and his wife, Katelyn, are originally from Tennessee, they have called Mitchel, IN, "home" since 2014. They have two sons, and their family is active in the Mitchell school system. Daniel previously served as the youth minister and worship leader at Mitchell Church of Christ until 2021. His passion for serving teens continues in his work with Between the Crowd, a non-profit youth outreach in Lawrence County. Daniel's desire in ministry is to create lifelong disciples of Jesus, to inspire a love of Scripture, to equip believers to live a life worthy of their calling, and to promote unity among all believers.

Darrin Chastain

Darrin and his wife, Kim, have been married since 1983 and live in the southeast corner of Lawrence County on a portion of the farm where Darrin grew up. They have two adult children and four grandchildren. Darrin is a school counselor at Mitchell High School having previously served as the Associate Minister at TSCC from 1993 through 2008 and also was the minister of Carter's Creek Christian Church from 2008 to 2012. Darrin leads the Connections class for adults each Sunday morning and assists Kim in the Wednesday night children's ministry.

Frank Hodges

Job Titles:
  • Deacon of Building & Grounds
Frank and Carolyn have been married since 1981 and live on a small farm in Stonington which is located in Southeast Lawrence County. They have two adult children and five grandchildren. Frank is retired from the Natural Resources Conservation Service and Carolyn is a retired teacher from the BNL school system. They have been members of Tulip Street since 1993. Frank has served as deacon of building of building and grounds since 2019. Carolyn has served in Childrens Ministry since 1993.

Jon Swayer

Job Titles:
  • Deacon of Safety and Security
Jonathan and his wife, Misty, have been married since 1998 and make their home in Orleans. They have two children (Evan & Emma), and an overly friendly dog (Ella). They have been attending TSCC since 2002 and have participated in various ministries over the years. If you don't see them on a given Sunday morning, there's a good chance they're on a camping trip with their family.

Josh Elliott

  • Youth Pastor
Growing up in a strong Christian home, and following in the footsteps of both his parents, Josh felt a call to ministry at 16 years old. After high school he moved to Knoxville Tennessee and attended Johnson University, studying the Bible and youth ministry. While there, Josh put his calling and faith under the microscope. He desired a genuine faith and relationship with God, not just the faith he inherited from his parents. After much work, many difficult discussions, and a lot of self reflection and prayer, Josh's faith in God became stronger than ever before. Because of this personal spiritual journey, Josh is now passionate about helping others pursue an authentic relationship with God. For Josh, youth ministry is incredibly life giving. Josh has an adventurous spirit, and is a child at heart. He loves playing games with the teenagers that attend Tulip Street, building relationships with them, and creating a place where teens feel comfortable being themselves. His goal in ministry is for everyone to build, strengthen, and maintain an authentic and meaningful relationship with God.

Misty Butcher

Misty joined the staff in 2022. She has 2 grown boys; Kody and Kameron. She currently resides in Bedford. In addition to being on staff at TSCC, Misty works at Tri-Star Engineering and operates her own Pet Sitting business; Critter Sitter. Misty's roles not only include cleaning the church, but keeping all housekeeping items stocked and distributed. In her spare time, Misty is involved with various groups within her own church and spending quality time with her family.

Roger Swayer

Roger and wife, Millie, married in 1970 and have five children and twelve grandchildren. They have been Orleans residents since 1978 and TSCC members since 2000. Roger met Jesus in 1984 and is forever grateful to his Savior and to those who have mentored him on his journey. He has served at TSCC in various positions, ministries, and missions. Favorite pastimes are family, friends, small group projects and a bit of woodworking.

Shannon Salmon

  • Assistant Worship Leader
Shannon has been on staff at TSCC for over 15 years, serving in an administrative support role under 4 different lead pastors. She and her husband and their two children reside in Mitchell. In addition to being on staff at TSCC, she is also on the finance administration team, and volunteers her time and is active in many different areas of ministry. Her role includes supporting the lead pastor in areas of family ministry, and serving as a conduit amongst the various ministries of TSCC. She brings her background in the insurance industry and her attention to detail to serve the Kingdom of God with excellence, and facilitates the smooth operation and cooperation of the various ministries that make up TSCC as well as maintaining our records and keeping all things financial moving in a God-honoring way. She is very active in all things community in Mitchell and Lawrence County, and also volunteers her time at Spring Mill Bible Camp each summer.

Tyson Knight

Tyson came on staff in April, 2016, after having served as an interim worship leader for TSCC for several months. He and his wife live in Bedford. Tyson brings solid musical experience and technical expertise to TSCC, while leading us to Jesus through music each week. He works in the community in insurance, and also teaches at Indiana University Southeast as an Adjunct Lecturer. Tyson was the worship leader at Smithville Christian Church before coming to TSCC. He plays music whenever and wherever he can, using what God has gifted him with to glorify the Kingdom of Heaven. He has a BS from IU Southeast, and MS in Music Technology from IUPUI. He is also a partner in missions to Guatemala.
