AKS evolved from a London-based structural engineering practice, Andrews Kent Stone, which was formed in 1919 and which has been involved in Gibraltar for over 50 years. Early projects included structural design of the Both Worlds Hotel and The Haven building for the Gibraltar Government.

Barry Brindle

Barry set up the business in 1987 as the Gibraltar branch of Andrews, Kent and Stone Engineers, the well-established firm of Structural Engineers in the UK. He then developed the company to include architectural staff so as to offer both architectural and engineering services. He went on to set up the current company AKS Architects and Engineers Limited at the beginning of 2008.

Daniel joined AKS in 2006 to further his career having previously worked for Spanish architects. Daniel was made director of AKS at the end of 2011. Daniel is a highly client focused professional and, additionally, has an in-depth knowledge of Gibraltar building regulations and has an excellent working relationship with the relevant Government departments.

David Muskett

A well-known figure in the Gibraltar construction industry with vast experience of projects for commercial developers, private clients, banks and government, David heads all quantity surveying, contract and project management activities.

Dominic joined the company at the end of 2007 and became a director with the formation of the new company AKS Architects and Engineers Limited. Dominic was previously running his own practice in France where he is still registered as an architect. Dominic had previously worked for various commercial architectural practices in London, Sydney and Kuala Lumpa, and has a wide range of experience on many building types over a period of some twenty years.

Ian has over fifteen years experience of consultancy work in the UK and Gibraltar. Ian has a wide range of experience including engineering bridge and building structures with well known UK architects and on a number of award-winning projects.
