Cristina Elstad MD grew up in Snellville, Georgia. After earning her bachelor's degree with a double major in Spanish and pre-med, she graduated as president of the first class of the Medical College of Georgia in Athens. Our Athens obgyn then completed her residency at Emory University, where she was the chief resident. Cristina Elstad MD is experienced in women's healthcare and laparoscopic surgery Our Athens obgyn feels passionate about providing exceptional care to all women. She wants to ensure that each patient feels comfortable to ask questions, and she strives to empower women to make positive lifestyle choices to become their very best self.

Katie Sells

Katie Sells loves providing compassionate care to the women of her home state Working as a nurse practitioner for our Athens obgyns makes sense for Katie Sells. She was born and raised in Madison, Georgia, and she enjoys caring for the women who live in the area. "I enjoy caring for women as they navigate all of the different life changes from adolescence to menopause," she explains. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia. Then, while working as a labor and delivery nurse, she completed her Master of Science at Georgia State University and became certified as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP). Meredith Bolton

Born and raised in East Tennessee, Meredith Bolton MD earned a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in history from East Tennessee State University. She then completed medical school and residency at Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. Our Athens obgyn was excited to move to Georgia to help the women in our community. Today, Meredith Bolton MD is a proud Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a Board Certified OBGYN with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG), and the Georgia OBGYN Society. In the family of Meredith Bolton MD, helping women is a passion. Her paternal grandfather was a primary care physician who also did obstetrics and her father was an obgyn in East Tennessee. Our Athens obgyn fell in love with women's healthcare while working with her father during her undergraduate years and assisting him in surgery. According to Dr. Bolton, "I enjoy the continuity of care. I get to support a woman throughout her life, starting in puberty, with her first pelvic exam, guiding her through pregnancy and childbirth, and providing continued support through annual wellness visits and treating any problems that she may encounter in her sexual and reproductive health." Enjoying her free time with family Meredith Bolton MD and her husband, Blaine, have three young children, two sons and a daughter. They also have a shelter rescue dog named Lily. When she isn't working as an Athens obgyn, she and her family enjoy trying new restaurants, going to the beach, watching the kids play sports, meeting new people, spending time outdoors, exercising, supporting local businesses and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. She then went on to attend East Tennessee State University for medical school and residency. Rebecca Fletcher MD loves caring for women throughout their lives When first starting medical school, Rebecca Fletcher MD considered becoming a small-town family doctor. However, on her obgyn rotation, she realized her true desire to take care of women. According to our Athens obgyn, "Obgyn is a wonderful field because it allows physicians to follow women throughout their lives. You can start by helping a woman with Rebecca Fletcher MD. Then, you can guide her through the exciting time of pregnancy and delivery. Finally, you can be there to take care of a woman as she goes through menopause. I feel fortunate to have the chance to support my patients through the ups and downs of their lives."

Ruth Cline

Ruth Cline MD joined Athens Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1995. She attended the Georgia Institute of Technology for her undergraduate and graduate studies. She then completed her medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. Before becoming an Athens obgyn, she trained at Emory University in Obstetrics and Gynecology, where she served as the chief administrative resident. Ruth Cline MD is a leader in women's healthcare In Athens, Ruth Cline MD has served in medical staff leadership positions at St Mary's Hospital as the department chief, the president of the medical staff and a member of the St Mary's Hospital Board.
