Becky Drozd

As Client Relations Associate, Becky brings over 25 years of client service experience to Balance Rock. In addition to providing our clients with a welcoming, friendly greeting when they call or visit the office, she provides a variety of support services to our administration team. She coordinates and oversees the office calendar to promote smooth and efficient client activity throughout the day. She assists with account processing and follow up activities for new and existing clients which include distributions and account updates. She also monitors monthly check receipt reports and IRA fee reports. Across her wide range of responsibilities, Becky takes a proactive approach to streamlining, simplifying, and improving office systems and processes. Becky earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Berkshire Community College. A Notary Public, she is also an active volunteer at Stearns Elementary School. Becky and her husband, Sean, live in Pittsfield, MA, with their daughters Madalyn and Jacklyn. In her free time she enjoys walking, gardening, traveling, yoga and hiking with her beloved dog Delilah. Dave Milligan - President

A veteran of the financial services industry, Dave brings over 35 years of experience to developing customized retirement income and asset management strategies for individuals and businesses. After founding Colt Investment Services in 1998, Dave renamed the company to Balance Rock Investment Group upon the firm's move to a new location. He has been an affiliated advisor with LPL Financial since 1995. With Dave's guidance and oversight, Balance Rock serves a broad range of individuals, families, and business owners seeking objective advice, and custom strategies. A graduate of the University of Maryland, he holds his FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 & 66 securities registrations with LPL Financial as well as his Health and Life insurance license. In 2012, he earned his Professional Plan Consultant Designation from Robert Morris University, allowing him to serve as a fiduciary on his clients' 401(k) plans. Actively involved in the Pittsfield, Massachusetts community, Dave is on the Finance Committee at Berkshire Place and a member of the Finance Committee of the Berkshire Humane Society. Outside of the office, he looks forward to spending time with his wife, Kelly (Office Finance Manager for Balance Rock), and his daughters, Meagan, Marissa, and Aubrey, and his stepson, Gregory. In addition to golfing, biking and hiking, Dave loves to cook and completed the Boston Marathon in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2014.

Joe Potash

Joe joined Balance Rock in 2000. As an LPL Registered Sales Assistant with over 25 years of industry experience, he plays an integral role in the planning and implementation of client retirement and investment strategies and office operations. Joe prepares and presents retirement income plans for the team and helps implement year-end tax planning strategies for clients and their accountants, and is the office specialist on Social Security retirement benefits. Joe also supports the firm's financial advisors, preparing annual client portfolio and 401k plan reviews and coordinating and tracking cost basis for client transactions. He develops models investment portfolios; and assists with the research, identification, and selection of investment options and model portfolios for 401k plans. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he graduated with an area of concentration in Studies in Financial Management, and holds his FINRA Series 7 & 63 securities registrations with LPL Financial. He earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP ®) designation from The American College of Financial Services, allowing him to provide knowledgeable advice on a broad range of retirement topics including the proper use of annuities, mitigation of risks to retirement income planning, estate issues, Social Security, health insurance, housing decisions, and income taxation. Joe lives in Pittsfield, MA, with his daughters Chloe, Molly, and Lucy. He is an active member of the Allendale Elementary School PTO. When he's not multitasking at work, he multitasks outside of the office, where he enjoys activities with his children, woodworking, homebrewing and any type of pastime that takes him outdoors. Jonathan Meczywor

After attending the University of Maine, Jon went on to earn his degree in Business Administration from Westfield State College. He currently holds his FINRA Series 7 & 66 Securities registrations with LPL Financial along with his Health and Life insurance licenses. In 2012, he earned his Professional Plan Consultant Designation from Robert Morris University, allowing him to serve as a fiduciary on his clients' 401(k) plans. Kelly Milligan

As Office Finance Manager, Kelly brings over 30 years of industry experience to the firm. While overseeing various aspects of personnel management, including payroll, health insurance, and bonus accounting, Kelly manages the firm's bookkeeping and basic accounting requirements. Kelly resides in Pittsfield, MA with her husband and Balance Rock founder, Dave Milligan, and their four children: her son, Gregory, and stepdaughters Meagan, Marissa, and Aubrey. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, gardening, baking, and spending time outdoors.

Lia Palermo

Lia brings over a decade of administrative, managerial, and client services experience to the Balance Rock Investment Group team. As Client Services Administrator, Lia provides support on administrative tasks and client management functions, including account openings and maintenance, distributions and transfers, Qualified Plan processing, and 401k enrollments. She also works with outside representatives, companies, and business professionals to coordinate clients' specific needs as they arise. Prior to joining the Balance Rock Investment Group team, Lia received a degree in sociology from Lemoyne College and her New Manager Certification from Siena College. She has worked in a number of administrative and managerial roles in the hospitality and trade industries, and most recently served as the digital marketing and social media coordinator for a non-profit organization. Lia lives in Berkshire County with her partner, Jim, their new baby, and French Bulldog named Lemmy. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and the theater-especially the ballet. In her free time, she can be found adventuring with her family.

Mary Calton

Meg brings over a decade of client services and finance experience to the Balance Rock Investment Group team. As Senior Client Services Administrator, she is responsible for a variety of tasks including processing account openings,... Mary brings over eight years of experience in administrative and client services to the Balance Rock Investment Group team. A remote worker, she is part of LPL Business Solutions, a service that provides industry-trained LPL professionals who can simplify operations and streamline advisors' practices. As Administrative Assistant, Mary partners with the advisors and client services team to provide support on administrative tasks and client management functions, including standard account activity management, preparing and processing new account paperwork, and overseeing maintenance of existing accounts. She also assists clients with account setup and any questions about the AccountView tool. Mary has worked in the financial services industry for over eight years in administrative and client service roles at companies including LPL Financial and Home Life Insurance. She joined LPL in 2019, starting as a service professional on the Service 360 team, and has now joined Admin Solutions to apply her experience working with advisors in the Admin Solutions program. A native of New Jersey, Mary has lived in Southern California for over twenty years. She enjoys working out at the gym and running, and is an avid cook and baker. In her free time, she enjoys visiting Disneyland and spending time with her family and pet cats.

Michelle Barbieri

Michelle brings over 25 years of financial services industry experience to her role as Operations Manager. She is responsible for overseeing all office operations, personnel management, including hiring and training and employee reviews. She is responsible for coordinating branch fiduciary audits, compliance, staff scheduling, and ensuring the continuing education and licensing requirements are met for the firm's licensed representatives. Michelle frequently serves as a liaison among clients' accountants, attorneys, and administrators to implement strategy modifications. She tracks and calculates Required Minimum Distributions as well as assisting the firm's advisors with Qualified Retirement Plan fiduciary responsibilities. Having earned an Associate's Degree in 2004, Michelle brings a vast array of experience, knowledge, and eager anticipation to fulfilling her clients' long-term financial goals. She lives in Pittsfield, MA with her daughters, Makayla and Arianna. She enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and traveling, especially to the ocean.
