Amelia Joanne Turner

Amelia Joanne Turner Is a former teacher and worked as a school counselor earning a post masters as a Licensed Professional Counselor from Kean University. She has worked in the Elizabeth public school system for many years with a passionate commitment in helping to navigate children and adolescents by focusing on their social, emotional learning as well as their needs. As a school counselor, Amelia believed that people are too unique to be treated with the same therapeutic approach. Her counseling techniques stemmed from an individual plan for every student she met. She has implemented modalities such as client centered therapy, and guided self-help therapy. In addition to school counseling, Amelia was the Chairperson of her school's Intervention and Referral Services, giving parents and teachers evidence based interventions to utilize in the classroom and at home. She was also part of the school crisis team. Amelia believes that anyone can benefit from having a professional listen to them in a non-judgemental setting.

Andrea Hall

Andrea Hall is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of New Jersey. She received her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in 2022, graduating with highest honors. Andrea is working towards her professional license (LPC). During her Master's program, she worked in a women's holistic wellness practice serving children, adolescents, and women of all ages. That is where Andrea gained experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, and major life transitions. Andrea's therapeutic approach is person-centered and holistic. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques and mindfulness. She believes it is important to meet the client where they are and values collaboration to develop a treatment plan. Andrea strives to foster a warm, safe, and comfortable environment. The therapeutic journey can be challenging, but she will be there every step of the way to guide you!

Carrine Neves

Carrine Neves is a licensed clinical social worker. She received her Bachelor's in Social work from Seton Hall University. She went on to receive her Master's in Social Work from Monmouth University. She has working experience in group, individual and family therapy across different settings. Carrine is experienced in working with children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and opposition. She is a bilingual (Portuguese) Licensed Clinical Social worker and is experienced in various modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focus therapy, play therapy, and family work. Her perspective is to meet each client where they are at and how to help support them in their personal goals. She continues to learn and seek out new tools and resources to further strengthen her work and ability to help individuals expand upon and change their narratives.

Kayla Kearney

Kayla Kearney is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned her Master's Degree at Rutgers University in Social Work and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Child Advocacy and Policy from Montclair State University. She has experience in working with adults, teens, and adolescents, in both individual and group settings. She works with those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, grief/loss, mood disorders, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and life transitions to name a few. Kayla will work with you to create a safe and judgement-free space to help achieve your goals. In using a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Strength-based approaches, you can feel comfortable and supported working towards becoming your best self.

Kristen Brady

Kristen Brady is a Licensed Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with children and families in various capacities. She earned her Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland and her Graduate Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. Her passion for enhancing the lives of children and their families has always guided her career, which includes serving as the director of mental and behavioral health programs, adoption specialist, educator, and clinician. She specializes in working with children and adolescents presenting with various mental and behavioral needs and their caregiving systems. Kristen's approach to therapy is rooted in attachment theory and she engages techniques from various evidence-informed modalities such as solution-focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Kristen is an advanced certified trainer of the Nurtured Heart Approach and weaves its principles into both her personal and professional lives. Kristen believes in developing a safe, collaborative environment where your treatment goals lead the treatment journey. She looks forward to working with you and supporting your growth.

Rosanne Tobey - Founder

Rosanne Tobey is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual, adolescent, and family therapy, with over 17 years experience as a clinician. She is currently Director of the Calm and Sense Therapy Practices as well as being a private practitioner within the practices. Rosanne has acted as a family counseling and parenting consultant for the websites Momlogic.com and Parentdish.com. She has also served as an Officer of the Board of the New Jersey Association of Gifted Children (NJAGC) and as a Trustee. Calm and Sense founder, Rosanne Tobey has worked as a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for more than 15 years, caring deeply about her clients and their wellbeing. As Rosanne's business grew she found that there were only so many hours in the day to help people. Rather than turn people in need of help away, Rosanne decided in 2008 to surround herself with other like-minded and passionate therapists who are committed to putting the patient's needs first. Since then, the Calm and Sense team has grown to 14 dedicated employees and two locations that serve those in need of support. Calm and Sense takes pride in ensuring every individual that walks through their door is treated with respect and dignity and is never treated like a number in the system.

Terri Dawe

Terri Dawe is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has over 25 years of experience working with individuals, families, and groups. She attended the University of South Carolina for her undergraduate degree and Rutgers University for her MSW. In addition, Terri completed a Post Master's certificate program in Marriage and Family Therapy at The Family Institute (currently, The Multicultural Family Institute). Terri has worked with adolescents, adults, and families in outpatient settings as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor for clinical staff and graduate interns. She has experience in treating depression, anxiety, family issues, grief, trauma, life transitions and stress management. Terri also spent a good portion of her career as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional providing brief solution-focused therapy to employees and consults to employers. Terri believes in meeting clients where they are at and working collaboratively to develop coping strategies and resolution of emotional distress. She utilizes a strength-based, client-centered approach in conjunction with Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy to work towards the client's individual goals.
