I come to the privilege of this calling after a variety of life experiences. These life experiences shaped me and led me to the place where "by turning, turning, we come round right" (lyrics from a well-known Shaker hymn). The daughter of dairy farmers in northeastern Iowa, my first calling was in music. This was a journey which led me to singing in many different countries and cultures as well as having a nine-year consecutive solo career as an opera singer at the Metropolitan Opera...
