Currently a resident artist at Stairway Studios - a collective located just west of downtown Chicago... Jonathan Cernak is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in contemporary oil painting. Based in Chicago, his work is currently inspired by theories that push towards a convergence of figurative and non-objective subject matter. Utilizing a love of color and form, Jonathan Cernak's goal is to provoke the viewer and transform their perception through varying subjects and techniques that alter spatial recognition. Additionally, his portfolio includes art direction in the fields of graphic design, photography, web design, sculpture, Flash animation, video editing, and online rich media advertising production.
