Meet Ashlie! Ashlie is our salon manager, marketing director, front desk lead, & professional problem solver! She is the happy voice you usually hear on the other end of the phone when you call to book an appointment, the eye behind the camera, & the creative behind our social media accounts! She has been married to her husband Matt since 2017, and has the cutest baby boy, Rush in the world (we're not biased, he's cute). She's our local guide, so if you need directions, restaurant recommendations, or ideas for the newest show to binge, she's your gal! Thomas Brown (6-3, 190, wide receiver, Wendell, NC, Ravenscroft, Butler University) Coach Brown Breakdown: "Brown is a big target that will bring depth and experience to the wide receiver room. High School: He was a two-year starter at Ravenscroft, finishing his career ranked sixth all-time in receiving touchdowns. In addition, he earned All-State honors twice and was named team MVP and captain. He totaled eight touchdowns as a senior: six receiving, one rushing, and one return. The previous season, he posted 38 receptions for 508 yards and nine touchdowns. In one game, he had nine receptions for 174 yards and four touchdowns. He also played basketball and participated in track and field.

He has route-running skills to get open versus man-to-man coverage. He has the elite ability to go and high-point the football. Terrell Dudley(6-0, 225, Linebacker, Tallahassee, Fla., Lincoln, Valdosta State)Coach Brown Breakdown: "Terrell was selected as a team captain his sophomore season and started as a true freshman at Valdosta. He is a high-motor, physical, explosive player who will bring great athleticism and leadership."Valdosta: He made 116 tackles, including 5 ½ for loss and three sacks in his first 24 collegiate games.
Timothy Hammonds (6-5, 290, offensive line, Red Springs, NC, Red Springs)Coach Brown Breakdown: "Timothy brings a physicality to the offensive line room with a combination of speed and power." High School: Hammonds earned honorable mention All-State honors. He also played in the North Carolina East-West All-Star game. He played basketball and baseball in high school as well.

He will replace him. He brings tremendous athleticism and toughness. We have big expectations for Cortez. We need more speed, and he brings that to the table."High School: He rushed for 1,321 yards and 19 touchdowns on 101 carries as a senior. Lane posted 794 yards rushing on 90 carries as a junior and scored 10 TDs. He also caught 26 passes for 334 yards and three scores. Lane took offers from Chattanooga, Middle Tennessee and South Carolina State.
Benjamin "Tre" Mittman II (5-11, 185, defensive back, Durham, NC, Southern Durham)Coach Brown Breakdown: "Mittman was a 2023 Shrine Bowl participant. He possesses great athleticism and leadership. He graduated early and enrolled at A&T. He chose A&T over multiple CAA schools, Ivy League institutions and service academies. Both parents are Aggie alumni."High School: He made 152 career tackles, including 69 unassisted and six for loss. He also intercepted six passes during his career. As a Durham Hillside High School junior, Mittman recorded 40 tackles, four INTs, five pass breakups and nine pass defenses. He also returned a punt for a touchdown.

Noah Sanders (6-2, 215, Stafford, Va., Brook Point, University of Delaware) Coach Brown Breakdown: "Sanders is athletic and has a big arm." High School: Sanders ranked as a 3-star quarterback and the 49th-ranked player out of Virginia coming out of high school. He started four years and was a three-year captain at Brook Point. He threw for 1,361 yards and rushed for 420 yards during one season.

With his basketball background, he has the elite body control that allows him to go up and pluck the football out of the sky over any defender. Corbin has speed, toughness, ball skills, and the ability to jump out of the gym. His football work allows him to get open when running routes and getting off press coverage." High School: He had 70 receptions for 1,270 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 2,899 all-purpose yards.

He also brings physicality and leadership."High School: Rivals ranked Adams a 4-star athlete in high school, positioning him as the No. 6 player in Virginia and the No. 12 guard in the nation. Julius Rosenwald was a Chicago-based businessman and the son of immigrant German Jews who became president of Sears Roebuck and Co., the biggest retail store of the early 20th century. Sears sold pretty much everything, and it distributed a thick catalogue through the mail, enabling many Black people forbidden by legalized segregation from shopping in regular White-owned retail stores to purchase all kinds of items, from seeds to lumber to kitchen supplies.
After Rosenwald made his fortune, he became an avid philanthropist. He met Booker T. Washington in 1911, and the two men worked out a plan to build a network of schools for African American children. At the time, the separate-but-equal legal doctrine codified by the Supreme Court in the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson case resulted in unequal public education. White schools generally were much better funded than Black schools, and the entrenched poverty among African Americans that was a consequence of nearly three centuries of slavery and Jim Crow meant that education was a privilege that not all families could afford.
Rosenwald and Washington changed that. Eventually, the 5,000 Rosenwald schools ensured that about a third of all African American children could receive a quality education. The schools produced a new generation of achievers, setting the stage for the freedom struggle of the 1940s and '50s, followed by the civil rights movement of the 1960s.

Coltrane said it's about teaching kids basic concepts that they can connect to real-world situations. For example, a child may see the apple tree and grocery area in the new exhibit, and the next time they are at the store with a parent, they can understand apples come from trees and that people buy apples at the store with money.

Kristen Gilliam has lived in the Boulder Bluff Neighborhood in Goose Creek for about 15 years. She has a home around the corner from her parents and they both see their properties fill up with sitting water each time it rains. It's not just the yards threateningly close to their homes; she says it's also the streets.
"It doesn't even have to be heavy rain. It does get very bad in some areas, especially down one of the roads here. Water Oak Drive and Lucy Drive itself. They do tend to flood to where people have to literally turn around and take another route. The neighborhood tends to shut down," Gilliam says.
She says the flooding is affecting some of the homes, and she knows people who are moving out and say the water is a big reason why.
"Like on this road alone, we actually have a bunch of vacant homes right now because they've left. A lot of people have had damages happen in the past year. Like my next next-door neighbor, they're gone. A couple of other owners have just left their homes," Gilliam says.

"Right now, that's one of the biggest challenges that we have in Colleton County is affordable housing," Wysong said.
Wysong says these industry jobs will increase the median income within the county, improving the housing market overall. Biering says there are roughly 9,000 people that leave every day to go work in neighboring counties and they want to try to keep those people a little closer to home.

Ralph James, the chairman of the St. George School Board and one of the last students to attend the school before it closed, said the school was partially preserved by the neglect.
Ralph James was only in second grade when the doors closed, and he says he remembers it like it was yesterday. James credits the school with granting him the gift of learning, and now years later, he is a co-chair on the board tasked with revitalizing the classroom he once called home.

Victoria Dianne Elizabeth Sherrill, 30, is charged with illegally distributing narcotics in violation of the state's Controlled Substances Act.
A sworn affidavit says Stone, while working as a vet at Animal Center of Mount Pleasant, unlawfully issued a prescription of Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen to Sherrill, who was working at the same clinic as a receptionist.
As Mr. Wise noted, the project is a scaled-down version of a 30-year-old Andell Harbor project that state environmental regulators rightly and mercifully rejected.
