COLLEGE BOULEVARD ANIMAL HOSPITAL - Key Persons

Jill Baird

Dr. Baird was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. In the 4th grade, she wrote in her autobiography that she would attend the University of Kansas and become a veterinarian. Well, Dr. Baird never attended KU, but she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas. (Woo Pig Sooie!) Dr. Baird graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She and her husband moved back to Arkansas, where she worked at a mixed animal hospital, seeing all types of animals. The clinic was the only veterinary clinic in the county! It was a demanding schedule, with long hours, days, and nights. After living and working in rural Arkansas for many years, Dr. Baird's husband got a job in the KC area. The move back to Kansas was nice, getting them closer to nieces and nephews. Dr. Baird and her family live in Overland Park, with dogs Bella and Hazel, and a reformed stray cat, Outside Oliver (who isn't outside anymore). On her days away from the office, Dr. Baird can be found with her toddler, trying out area parks- always on the search for the best twisty slide, or taking the dogs for a walk.

Kris Pippin

Born and raised for most of his childhood in Shawnee, except for a year living in New Zealand, Dr. Pippin has always known that he wanted to be a veterinarian. From breeding hamsters, rabbits, and sand boas to owning nearly every type of rodent, reptile, fish, or bird that he could get his hands on before he even had a driver's license, Dr. Pippin has enjoyed animals since the time he could walk. Dr. Pippin attended Kansas State University for both his undergraduate curriculum and veterinary school, where he graduated in 2011. Away from work, Dr. Pippin leads a very active lifestyle. A former motorcycle racer, he won 4 championships before hanging up his motorcycle leathers and attending veterinary school. He now contents himself competing in a spec Porsche race series in an '87 924S at racetracks across the US. On non-race weekends when he isn't working on his or his wife's racecars, he can be found mountain biking or working on innumerable household projects. On the animal front, Dr. Pippin and his wife have a boxer, Nico, and a Red-Tailed Boa, Jake. On days when the weather doesn't cooperate for outdoor activities, he can be found curled up reading a science fiction book.
