Allen Gillespie - Chief Investment Officer

Allen started in the investment industry in 1995 and serves as the Chief Investment Officer for FinTrust Capital Advisors. In his role, Allen is responsible for overseeing client portfolios and the FinTrust investment team. Allen works closely with FinTrust's advisors to help analyze portfolios and develop investment recommendations and implementation strategies for clients. From 2005-2021, Allen served as a Commissioner for the South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission, a $30+ Billion pension plan. While a member of the board, Allen served one two-year term as Chairman of the Board, and he established and initially chaired the pension fund's first Risk and Audit Committee. In his spare time, Allen enjoys serving as the scoreboard manager and/or announcer for various Saint Joseph High School football and soccer teams.

Brittany C. Bynum

Brittany recently relocated to South Carolina to join the FinTrust team and has enjoyed getting to know the Greenville area. She grew up in Sanford, NC then went to University of North Carolina Wilmington where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Finance. After she graduated, she picked up and moved to Charlotte, NC to work for Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC for 3 years. While in Charlotte, Brittany became Series 7 and 66 registered and has her Insurance License to sell Life, Accident/Health, and Variable Contracts. In 2018, Brittany attained her FINRA Series 24 General Securities Principal license. It empowers her to oversee operational, compliance, trading and sales personnel. Some of the additional responsibilities include timely and accurate filings with state and federal agencies, as well as self-regulatory organizations (SRO), supervising retail and institutional customer-related activities, and making sure that firm personnel's licenses are appropriate and current.

Cody Mann

As a Retirement Plan Administrator, Cody works with the Retirement Plan Consulting team to help retirement plan sponsors optimize their retirement plan fund lineups, run quarterly Fiduciary Investment reviews, and create and administer employee education materials. Cody also assists Investment Advisors at FinTrust by attending client meetings, onboarding new clients, running Fiduciary reports, and communicating with plan sponsors and record keepers. Prior to joining FinTrust, Cody was a Senior Operations Specialist in the Retirement Department at LPL Financial from 2021 to 2023, where he processed client contributions, distributions, conversions, and tax corrections, directly assisted Financial Advisors with account issues/transactions and general questions, utilized critical thinking skills to increase processing efficiency via Microsoft Excel, TPX Beta, and Move Money Tool, and led training sessions for his team. A native Carolinian, Cody has lived in North Carolina and South Carolina his entire life. He was born in Wilmington, NC and grew up in Clover, SC. He also attended Clemson University from 2016 to 2020 where he graduated with a degree in finance and a minor in accounting. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, hiking, attending sporting events, and spending time with his girlfriend, Emmeline, and his dog, Dingus the Goldendoodle.

David Lewis - CFO, SVP

Dave began his career in 1993 in the consumer services industry and has over 20 years of experience in asset valuation, portfolio management, financial analysis & planning, acquisitions and identifying financial solutions. During his tenure in the industry, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for over 150 business units operating in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and the province of Quebec. As a Financial Advisor with FinTrust, Dave focuses on financial planning and portfolio management for individuals, trust funds, retirement plans, non-profits and small businesses. Specializing in business valuation and succession planning, Dave's diverse experiences enabled him to serve on his former company's 401K committee where he played a vital role in the management of $100 million in assets.

Lee French

Lee joined FinTrust Capital Advisors in 2013 and currently serves as Director of Equity Research. In his role, Lee works closely with FinTrust's portfolio managers and advisors to help analyze equity positions and develop investment recommendations and strategies. Lee began his career as an investment banking analyst in the leverage finance group at Wachovia Securities. Prior to joining FinTrust, Lee served as an associate at J.F. Lehman & Company in New York where he focused on private equity control buyouts. A native of Virginia, Lee graduated from Washington and Lee University with a BA in Economics.

Spencer Cole - VP

Spencer joins FinTrust after serving as a Financial Advisor at Stifel. He assists his individual clients with all their wealth management and retirement planning needs. He is a firm believer in establishing a financial roadmap for each client he works with while prioritizing individuality using the necessary financial vehicles and instruments tailored to the client's particular values and goals. He also serves as fiduciary consultant on employer sponsored retirement plans, speaking with employers and employee groups about their unique retirement goals. Spencer is a Greenville native. He attended high school at IMG Academies in Bradenton, FL, and went on to play college golf at The University of Alabama and Rollins College, where he was an All-American performer. After graduating from Rollins College with a major in International Relations, he played professional golf competing on various domestic and international tours. Outside of the office, Spencer lives an active lifestyle prioritizing wellness. He often travels to world-class golf destinations to study noteworthy course architecture. Additionally, he is involved in the Greenville, SC community with The First Tee - Upstate South Carolina.

Stephen Popper, III - SVP

Steve Popper brings a wealth of experience in the financial services industry dating back to 1978. He served as Corporate Vice President at Paine Webber/UBS, Inc. for three years and as managing partner at its predecessor firm, J.C. Bradford, for three years. Throughout the 1980's and 1990's, he served as an Assistant Vice President/Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc., a global financial management and advisory company.

Tammy Erdley

Tammy joined FinTrust with over 12 years of experience in the finance industry. She formerly held the title of Supervisor in the Institutional Reconciliation Department at The Vanguard Group. After working with Vanguard for five years, she worked as an accountant and office manager for a small business in Greenville. Her ability to manage accounting on numerous projects made her an integral part of the team. At FinTrust, Tammy's primary focus is gathering and reporting costs, productivity, margins, commissions and expenditures for the company. She completes reconciliations, and she works closely with the CFO to complete accurate and timely financial reporting as well as internal and external audits. Tammy enjoys analyzing the numbers and helping the company ensure solvency and grow in prosperity. After living in several cities across the U.S., Tammy now resides in Travelers Rest with her husband and three boys. She enjoys running, traveling with family, and watching her boys play hockey.

Thomas Cassidy Sheridan

Thomas began his career in the investment industry in 2013 and serves as Financial Analyst for FinTrust Capital Advisors. In this position, Thomas works in the Portfolio Management Group alongside the Chief Investment Officer and assists with due diligence and performance measurement on third party managers, mutual fund managers, and limited partnerships. Additionally, Thomas assists other advisors in the firm with implementation of investment strategies and recommendations provided by the Portfolio Management Group. He began his career as a Financial Representative at Fidelity Investments in Dallas, Texas and later served as a Regional Manager at Sterne Agee in Birmingham, Alabama. Thomas is an avid golfer and traveler. His favorite destination is Thailand.
