In 2016, a total of P 1.2 billion was invested for the construction of the FOTON Motor Philippines, Inc. (FMPI) Assembly Plant - the first automotive plant in CDC, with a line capable of producing 12, 000 vehicles annually. FOTON has also set its official membership in the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) -1 a leading organization in the Philippine automotive industry where to date; FOTON holds the 9th overall ranking... The founders and incorporators of FOTON Motor Philippines, Inc. (FMPI) were convinced to bring the brand to the shores of the Philippine automotive market in year 2006. Just 10 years after, FMPI became a registered locator in the Clark Freeport Zone with a 50-year lease agreement with Clark Development Corporation (CDC) engaging in the automotive and truck industry.
