NORTH RICHLAND - Key Persons

Dr. Patrick Mumm

Dr. Mumm is a 2022 graduate of Virginia Tech, where he focused on exotic and mixed animal medicine. He grew up in southeast Virginia where he enjoyed caring for the animals of friends and neighbors. Dr. Mumm always knew he wanted to work with animals and in middle school decided that veterinary medicine would be the path for him. While he greatly enjoyed working with cattle and sheep during his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech, he discovered his love for exotic animal medicine while volunteering with the Buffalo Zoo hospital team during summers throughout undergraduate and veterinary school. During veterinary school, he also re-discovered his love for dogs and cats and developed a passion for diagnostic imaging, pathology, clinical pathology, and working with owners to best care for their pets. He made the move from Virginia to Texas to be closer to his fiancée, whom he is very excited to marry in October. When not practicing veterinary medicine, he enjoys doing anything outdoors, cooking, reading, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and exploring North Texas.

Job Titles:
  • Managing DVM / View Profile
Dr. Swanton is a 2007 Graduate of Iowa State University, where she was focused on mixed animal practice. She grew up on a farm in rural Iowa and that is where her love of veterinary medicine began. She started out her career seeing both large and small animals, everything from dogs and cats to cattle and horses, llamas, goats, sheep, and pigs. But as she continued to progress through her career her love for dogs and cats and surgery and internal medicine grew and she started to focus more on the small animal aspect of veterinary medicine. Her favorite cases are dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and anything out of the ordinary. She spent several years owning her own mobile small animal concierge practice and then as a leadership role as a medical director at a primarily small animal mixed practice. She is active in dog sports and AKC events, and often you can see her competing in conformation or agility trials with her favorite canine companions the Australian Cattle dog. When she is not out competing, she loves to sing karaoke, record and perform music, paint and spend time out in nature hiking and soaking in the sun. Otherwise, she is spending time with her loved ones and her dogs, cat Starla, two miniature horses and her small herd of sheep.
