HELPING NEIGHBORS

Helping Neighbors began operations in the spring of 1995 to provide food to our neighbors in need. In that year the Pantry served 9,000 clients and distributed over 93,000 pounds of food. In recent years, food distribution has nearly tripled. The average number of pounds distributed in 2007 and 2008 was over 280,000 annually, providing needed nutrition to about 21,000 individuals. Since it opened its doors, Helping Neighbors has provided area residents in need with well over 4.1 million pounds of food... Helping Neighbors operates an inter-faith food Pantry serving Craighead County, Arkansas residents. The Pantry is managed by a board of directors comprised of representatives from its twenty-four Sponsoring Organizations (a synagogue and twenty-three churches).
