I.A.T.S.E. LOCAL 55

I.A.T.S.E Local 55 is a mixed use local stagehand union that was chartered in 1917 and affiliated with the international I.A.T.S.E organization. We are located in the Roanoke Valley of Virginia and serve the Roanoke Valley and surrounding regions. Local 55 was mainly a projectionist's local in the beginning but over the years has transformed into a mixed use member base. Our membership body consists of skilled technicians in areas ranging from stagehands to certified riggers, truck loaders, equipment operators as well as skilled lighting technicians and audio sound engineers... Some of our members have been affiliated with other I.A.T.S.E. organizations such as LOCALS 487 in Baltimore, MD and LOCALS 479 based in Atlanta, GA. These locals consisting of studio mechanics locals that are affiliated with motion picture technicians...
