Kyle is a member of the Medicine Lodge Lion's Club and a founding board member of the Chief Community Theater, and volunteers at the theatre as time permits. He served as a Director on the Pratt Community College Foundation Board for six years and continues to be a strong advocate for community colleges in Kansas. He and his wife also served in the past as Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsors at Coldwater High School and later South Central High School for 10 years starting in 1996. Kyle & Kristi are members of the Coldwater Assembly of God Church, where he serves as the treasurer.
Kyle has been a member of the Kansas House of Representatives since being elected in 2010. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, the K-12 Budget Committee, and the Joint Committee on Information Technology and a member of the Commerce, Labor and Economic Development Committee. Kyle represents Kansas on the multi-state Energy Council and served as Chairman of the council in 2018-2019. He is the past Chairman of the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee as well as the House Agriculture Budget Committee. In 2013 and 2014, Kyle served as the House Majority Caucus Chair.
