LAUGHING HEART LODGE

Laughing Heart Lodge in Hot Springs, NC, opened in August of 2012 after extensive renovation. It is a wonderful facility for retreats, family gatherings, weddings, and events as well as being available to individual guests as a bed and breakfast. The lodge is a great place for relaxing, a romantic getaway, and to enjoy the beauty of our surrounding sacred mountains in our small, quaint mountain town. Our vision includes hosting a variety of retreats in addition to a peaceful lodging to travelers. We are excited about our endeavors... The property on which the Laughing Heart Lodge now stands was originally owned by Col. Rumbough, who also owned the land and built the house now known as the Mountain Magnolia Inn and Retreat. Somewhere around 1890 Col. Rumbough sold 7 acres of land to Alexander H. Mott and his wife Elizabeth of Manhattan, New York. As the parents of a daughter in poor health, Alexander and Elizabeth were seeking the cool mountain air and the healing mineral baths of this..
