Lemae Group Wines was the vision of our co-founders, Donald L. and Vela Mitchell. Donald who is now deceased, was a chemist and an attorney who loved to "mix things up" in the lab, the kitchen and the courtroom. During a vacation that he and his wife, Vela, took to Portugal with their friends Rory and Gay Wright, the Mitchells met a really cool Portuguese couple during their flight. By the time they all landed in Portugal, the couples had become the best of friends, and Don and Vela were subsequently introduced to Portuguese wines... Formed in 1999, Lemae Group Ltd., LLC (doing business as Lemae Group Wines) is a minority woman owned wine importer headquartered in Atlanta, GA. We provide a wide range of services to help our wine producer partners bring their Old World wines to the New Tastes of the American market... Lemae Group Wines is overseen by an experienced and talented senior management team.
