Laura S. Lovelace - CEO, Founder

Laura S. Lovelace is Founder and Managing Partner of Lovelace Energy Advisors. Ms. Lovelace co-founded Wellford Energy in 2009 with Harrison Wellford. She advises clients on private capital raises, government funding, project development incentives, opening new business channels, and formulating public policy on behalf of energy companies, project developers and corporations. Ms. Lovelace served in the White House Office of Policy Development and the United States Department of the Treasury where she focused on domestic and economic policy. At Treasury, she worked with the White House, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Commerce on the National Energy Policy Task Force. She worked in the Institutional Debt and Equities groups at the firm of Goldman Sachs & Co., in their New York office. Ms. Lovelace has represented clients in all stages of technology development and procurement. She has represented project developers, Fortune 50 corporations, and clean tech companies; she has worked with some of the world's premier venture capital firms. Ms. Lovelace has combined her expertise in the financial sector and government affairs by working at the nexus of Federal and State Agencies, Congress, the White House, Wall Street and Silicon Valley. Ms. Lovelace remains a staunch advocate for the development and commercialization of alternative energy technologies. As such, she is a strategic partner to the Abundant Power Clean Source Funds and an advisor to the Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) and the Conrad Foundation for innovation and entrepreneurship. Ms. Lovelace gleaned her political experience from growing up in Texas Republican politics and the resulting Gubernatorial and Presidential campaigns. She graduated with distinction from Dartmouth College as a Presidential Scholar and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Tuck School at Dartmouth. Ms. Lovelace is a registered FINRA representative.

W. Harrison Wellford

W. Harrison Wellford is a Senior Advisor at Lovelace Energy Advisors and was a co-founder of Wellford Energy Advisors in 2009 with Laura Lovelace. He has spent 25 years in the alternative energy industry. In the public sector, he has advised Democratic Presidents-elect, Presidential nominees and Senate Committees on Presidential transition planning for over 20 years. Mr. Wellford was Executive Director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Executive Office of the President. In the US Senate, Mr. Wellford served as Chief Legislative Assistant to the late Senator Philip A. Hart. In the private sector, he was Chairman of Latham & Watkins energy practice where he focused on project finance and regulatory issues. He was a leading advocate for the creation of the competitive power industry and was a founder of the largest trade association for the independent power companies. Mr. Wellford holds a Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University and a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law School. He was a Marshall Scholar at Cambridge University and Valedictorian of his graduating class at Davidson College.
