Hello, my name is Kirk Hiner and I started Minnesota Mattress Factory as a way of offering our high quality mattresses to be sold Factory Direct to the consumer. I grew up in Kenyon, MN and attended college in Moorhead, MN. After graduation I took a position with Leggett & Platt Inc., a large manufacturer of mattress components. After seven years with L&P I decided to start my own mattress company. Starting out small, we gradually built up a base of retail customers that would resell our mattresses in stores throughout the region. We have been making mattresses and selling them to retailers since 1985. We eventually expanded to the College Dormitory business as well, and now are the exclusive provider of mattresses for a majority of Minnesota and Iowa's private colleges, a fact we are very proud of! I felt that with the direction the industry is heading in, this was the perfect time for us to sell our mattresses direct to the public. Better products. Lower costs. Direct from our factory in Kenyon, MN to the customer - a true win-win.
