Don Benfer

Don's twelve years (1977-1988) of ever increasing financial and operational responsibility in various corporate environs, provided invaluable to his 1988 role as V.P. of operations for CB Sports . Inheriting four USA factories, 10 sub-contractors , two Mexico ( 807) operations, and one Korean trading company , Don was chartered with transferring all this production to one Hong Kong office. During 1989-1990, Don opened and staffed the CB Sports Hong Kong office, successfully allocating 350,000 pieces per season, solely to China factory development and production. This factory research, vetting and subsequent program processing highlighted to Don, the need for reliable Asian manufacturing support for other wholesale brands. Consequently , in 1991 Don started Next Step International , as a technical and casual outer-wear apparel manufacturing agency in support of high quality wholesale brands. From 1991-1997, the office employed 10 merchandising / quality control personnel, and managed on average 200,000 pieces per year of outerwear and skiwear, through all product development , and bulk manufacturing phases. After seven years of on site management of Next Step International, Don created a partnership with the main China factory and transferring his personnel to the Hong Kong factory office. Returning to the USA in 1997, Don serves as President of Next Step North America Inc. expanding the sales, marketing, and program development efforts for the collective companies. Don has a MBA in Quantitative Analysis/ Operations Research from Bucknell University.
