Courtney received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Masters of Science in Nursing from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. She earned her Master's in Public Health from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Riverside Surgical Associates, Courtney worked for several years as an Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner. Interested in women's health issues, Courtney's clinical training experiences included numerous rotations focusing on women's health, and breast cancer. When she is not working, Courtney enjoys spending time with her husband and young children.

Dr. Jana Simonds

Dr. Jana Simonds received her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. She went on to complete her general surgery residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, in Boston and completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Houston. Dr. Simonds is Board Certified in Surgery and has been a surgeon in Boston and the Merrimack Valley since 2015. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. In addition to English, Dr. Simonds is fluent in Slovak and Russian. In her free time, Dr. Simonds enjoys entertaining friends, evenings at the beach, and traveling.

Dr. Suman Koganti

Dr. Suman Koganti received his medical degree from Kakatiya Medical College in India and completed his surgical residency at the Bronx-Care Health System of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. He then went on to complete a Hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) and Liver Transplant Fellowship at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, MA. Dr. Koganti is board certified in surgery and is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and both the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. He has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has served as a reviewer for high impact journals like Journal of the American College of Surgeons, Cell Transplantation and several others. Dr. Koganti has a strong passion for treating diseases of the Pancreas, Liver, Gallbladder and Bile Ducts. His expertise in minimally invasive techniques (both Robotic and Laparoscopic surgery) is geared towards providing high quality care to his patients. In his free time, Dr. Koganti enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, travelling, listening to music and playing tennis.

Lerna C. Ozcan

Dr. Ozcan received her medical degree from Justus-Liebig University School of Medicine in Giessen, Germany. She completed her residency in general surgery at Rhode Island Hospital-Brown University in Providence, RI and St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton, MA. After residency she spent one year doing a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Ozcan is the Medical Director of the Lowell General Hospital Breast Center, a nationally accredited Breast Center for Excellence. In addition to English, Dr. Ozcan is fluent in German (her native tongue) and Turkish, and speaks basic Armenian. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Ozcan enjoys reading, jogging, and German chocolate.

Michael Jiser

Dr. Jiser received his medical degree from the New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, and completed his residency in general surgery at New York Medical College/Soundshore Medical Center in New Rochelle, New York. He is board certified in Surgery and a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. His other professional memberships include the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the New England Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Boston Surgical Society. Dr. Jiser has been practicing surgery for over 20 years, mostly in the Greater Lowell area. He is well known for always being at the cutting edge in minimally invasive surgical techniques, often training surgeons in the region in the latest laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures. He has transformed the lives of hundreds of patients, more than any other doctor in the Merrimack Valley, through weight loss surgery, including gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy. Dr. Jiser enjoys playing golf, the outdoors, and spending time with his children in his spare time.

Wassim Mazraany

Dr. Mazraany received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the prestigious American University of Beirut, Lebanon where he was on the Dean's honor list. He completed residencies in general surgery at Easton Hospital in Pennsylvania and at Loma Linda University in California. He is board certified in Surgery and has published and contributed to many medical publications. Dr. Mazraany has been practicing in the Greater Lowell area since 2008. He has successfully performed thousands of advanced laparoscopic and very complex operations at Lowell General Hospital Saints and Main Campuses. Dr. Mazraany is also on the clinical faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine, is the president and CEO of Riverside Surgical Associates, and is the Chief of Surgery at Lowell General Hospital. He is fluent in English, French, and Arabic, and proficient in Spanish. When he is not with patients, Dr. Mazraany spends his free time volunteering for many community charities, including coaching his children's sports teams, staying active through sports, and enjoying time with his wife and their three children.
