Finishing his studies of Electrical Engineering (Communications Engineering) at the Technical University Vienna in 1990 he started to work at Seibersdorf Laboratories (former Austrian Research Centers). Currently he is head of the business unit Electromagnetic Compatibility and Optics. During his photographic education at the Prager Fotoschule Österreich (diploma 2009) he was holding workshops for Digital Photography, Image Processing and Workflow. The pictures Müllner takes with digital cameras when traveling abroad act as starting point for collages, overlays and abstractions. Self-constructed pinhole cameras for film and slit scan adapters for digital cameras are used to capture the dynamic of movement in the still image. Since 2010 Wolfgang Müllner is member of FLUSS. He lives in Landegg, Lower Austria.
